    And hello there!

    Important advice.

  3. Probably gonna do a set that looks something like this:

    Love Interruption (Jack White)
    Push (Matchbox Twenty)
    Water Into Wine (Original)
    All Star (Smash Mouth)

And if time allows, I might try "Stay" (U2)...haven't even properly played the song all the way through in about 3 years but I'm pretty sure I have the chords memorized still. Just sort of remembered that song last night.

The Smash Mouth tune should make some people smile. Fun one that nobody expects.
  4. Ahh, Smash Mouth - the one-hit wonder band.

Are you doing it with anyone else or just on your own? That's how The White Stripes started out: an open-mic night.
  5. Just on my own. Sometimes other people that play solo sets at open mic night come up and ask other performers to duet with them if they know certain covers, so there's always a possibility of that. Those moments are always fun to watch from the crowd- completely live, unrehearsed moments where the chemistry between the performers really just takes total control of the mood.
  6. Also I'm throwing a party tomorrow night, you should all come.
  7. Not bad, enjoy it and good luck!

Not the first party I've been invited to for tomorrow night and I can't make either! Working unfortunately and I don't have £500+ to pay for a plane ticket. Sorry Matt, I'm afraid that RSVP will have 'Decline' written on it.
  8. Thanks

Damn. I'll just post a picture of your avatar up on the wall and pretend that you've attended. I'll let you know how your conversations were afterwards.

In all honesty, people will probably so drunk by the end of the night that talking to a piece of paper wouldn't be far out of the ordinary.
  9. Haha, yeah and we'll see if I still pull.

I'm getting to the point where I'm fed up of not being 18 and not being able to go to clubs or pubs. It's driving my social life to the grave.
  10. I JUST passed that age last weekend...its definitely freeing. You spend a lot more money though.

21 here in the States. :/
  11. Yeah, I saw you tagged in a picture saying "First legal drinks" and I was like WTF? But then I realized that the drinking age is 21 in the US.

I'm just waiting for it. I spend my wage on music basically and I know once I'm 18, I'll have to half it to save money for going out incase I feel like it. I suppose it'll be fun though.

    How's life being 21?
  12. Pretty awesome. It's just nice that at a concert or anything now, I don't have to have someone go get me a beer and make sure nobody watches them hand it to me...I can drink casually and socially and not worry about being in trouble for it.

For example I'm going to buy the cases of beer for the party later. I don't have to rely on someone else to go to the liquor store for me.

Also, the bars here are quite the social scene, it being a university and what-not, thats what the students of age tend to do. So it's fun to go somewhere a little more mature.
