  1. That is some freezing cold there. Glad you enjoyed it though! Any more N8 pics? They seriously look astonishing. I'm sure no photographer could tell if you're lying if you said you took them with an advanced compact camera or a cheap DSLR.

    As always hard to get the balance right, the original is tad dark. The new one is perhaps a bit too vivid. Did some curve editing and perspective correction.

  11. Hi everyone!

    I need help... I'm thinking about buying a compact camera for this tour... The thing is I have a DSLR (hard to get in with it) and I don't want to spend much money since I'll be using the compact only for shows/travel.
    The only thing I need is a bit of extra zoom and the most important is to have manual settings (or aperture/speed priority) 'cause I can't work with automatic scenic modes.

    I'm thinking about this one but need some help understanding if the sensor and image stabilization are any good.

  12. Largest aperture appears to be f/2.9. You might be able to get away with low light shots if you have enough light from the stage. My 2011 shots are with an 18-45mm DX at f/3.5.

    This model has no aperture priority mode which means in changing light conditions the camera won't be able to determine the best exposure. You'll have to do it manually. Which is okay, I shot all of 2011 on manual with my D80.

    For 106.00 I'd say go for it. Do some local test shows and low light scenarios before the main event.
