The top 4 of yours, Matt, is the exact to mine

Not done mine in a while too, so I'll do it:

    1) Achtung Baby
    2) The Joshua Tree
    3) Zooropa
    4) The Unforgettable Fire
    5) Boy
    6) Pop
    7) No Line on the Horizon
    8) War
    9) Rattle and Hum
    10) All That You Can't Leave Behind
    11) How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
    12) October

  3. There's nothing wrong with it. I just can't tell you the last time I listened to it. I also somewhat judge these by how well they flow, how amazing the songs are, and how many songs I generally skip without even consideration. R&H has crap like:

    -Love Rescue Me
    -God Part II
-All Along the Watchtower (seriously, gag me)
    -Freedom For my People
    -Silver and Gold

I just don't like those songs. (I love the song AATW, but NOT when they play it)

October's the same way...some GREAT songs, as with R&H, I just never have the desire to play the album all the way through.
  4. For me, there are only three R&H songs worth listening to and they were all played at Slane 2001.

Sorry, FOR ME, songs like H269 (I know, EyeswithPride, you love that one), GP2, and LRM are overblown - and I have already expressed my distaste for WLCTT on this site numerours times. Worst....U2...song...ever.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about WLCTT. Only time it was ever good was on the ZooTV tour on the B-Stage. Didn't mind it then.

And yeah, can't help it- Gotta love H269. Nothing wrong with disliking it by any means...I just can't get enough of how powerful it is to me for some reason.

    To each his own
  6. H269 is great!

I think God Part II is an awesome rocking song too

  7. I certainly don't want to come across like I dislike GP2 and H269, I think they are decent tracks - just not up to the standard of the "big three" on R&H. They do indeed "rock" - there's just moments in the song where I feel Bono is forcing something out of his ....

    I'll end it.
  8. By forcing do you mean the verses in H269 that he gives his all, and the verse from God Part II where he gives everything?

Those verses are completely awesome So awesome that I have to turn the volume up and walk away from people when listening to them on my breaks in school.

    You got it...

it works for me sometimes...other times, well, not so much.

For me, I have to be in the mood for them. I could listen to "Desire," "Angel of Harlem," and "All I Want Is You" anytime, anywhere.

Oh, Shit. We're off topic again.

I'll rerank to get things back where they should be:

    3. Zooropa
    4. Unforgettable Fire
    5. War
    6. All That You Can' Leave Behind
    7. Pop
    8. Boy
8, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
    10. No Line On The Horizon
    11. Rattle & Hum
    12. October
  10. 1. Achtung Baby
    2. The Joshua Tree
    3. Zooropa
    4. All That You Can't Leave Behind
    5. War
    6. Pop
    7. How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
    8. No Line on The Horizon
    9. The Unforgettable Fire
    10. Rattle and Hum
    11. Boy
    12. October
  11. I think mine right now are...

    1. All That You Can't Leave Behind
    2. Achtung Baby
    3. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
    4. Joshua Tree
    5. No Line On The Horizon
    6. Pop
    7. Rattle and Hum
    8. Zooropa
    9. Boy
    10. War
    11. The Unforgettable Fire
    12. October

I listened to ATYCLB tonight on the way back from a soccer/football game that was a few hours away. Half the songs I have on my Top 25 Most Played on my iPod come from that album.....Achtung Baby is a realllly close 2nd, the only song I don't enjoy as much on there is prob So Cruel. Always thought highly of HTDAAB (If One Step Closer wasnt on the album, it might even be #1), and Joshua Tree is a classic. No Line has several good tracks, some of which will never see the light of day live (Stand Up, White As Snow, Fez), and others like MOS and Breathe which are outstanding. Pop also has a few good tracks that will probably never again see the light of day (Last Night On Earth, Mofo). R&H, Zooropa, and Boy are all close with eachother, I listen to them sometimes, but they arent what come to mind when I wanna listen to the band. I barely ever give a listen to War, UF, and October, but if I listen to anything from them its usually something on a show (SBS, Pride, NYD, Gloria).

I see a pattern...you not into the "slower" stuff like "So Cruel" and "One Step Closer."

You must be a guitar person.
