This incredible layer of echo, delay, chamber-effects and reverb all at once, then into these drums with the most incredible bass line, so deep yet so...undescribable. That was Where The Streets Have No Name. There's something special there. And it still does that. To this day. Words, lyrics, poetry, meaning, prose...boom. All arrived. In that five minutes.

'I wanna run, I wanna go there with you'. I don't know where you're going, but I wanna go there with you.

My turn... Where's the "I approve this comment in its entirety" button? Remy, please, add it to the to-do list.
  2. And yet, Spinal Tap weren't aware of the power of Streets at 22.

Why go to 11 when you can go for 22.
  3. I think i will listen to my original 1987 vinyl, with all "wood fire noises" to celebrate my love and passion for this "tree"...
  4. Wow. This means I;ve been a U2 fan for a quarter of a century now.
  5. I will also listen to it in vinyl tonight. Although our vinyl isn't in the best condition after 25 years, too many pops and scratches... I'm afraid I just might listen to Streets on the old vinyl and the rest on CD.
  6. Yep, I'll be giving my vinyl a listen in half an hour.

    Happy 25th JT!
  7. I won't be home with my vinyl until tomorrow, but I'll definitely give the album a play today. Vinyl tomorrow if I remember

    Happy birthday JT!
  8. 1987 was full of greatness apparently as I was born just 3 months after the album dropped. I agree with what someone said earlier about it not being my favorite offering from U2 (not even in my top 3). I think it is because I have no memories or certain era to pair it with, that being said there are so many damn good songs on there.
  9. The Joshua Tree, one of the best things humanity has ever created. A real piece of art and definitely it's one of the few things I couldn't live without.

    +1

Sure, AB is mindblowing, but so is this.

    Happy Birthday JT!
  11. One minute to the end of March 9th -in my timezone- and I've JUST finished listening to The Joshua Tree what a great, great album it is.

(yes, I am a strong geek. I planned my listening with the duration of the album...)
