. The Beatles had a similar career to U2, starting out with a simple style that eventually evolved into something completely different. You could say the same for Zeppelin or Floyd, but I think Zeppelin's music style is so different from U2's that it's hard to draw a comparison, and Floyd was so different as a band (i.e they all pretty much hated eachother for a long, long time, and they only have one album that they all completely agreed creatively on - Dark Side). Stones didn't change as much and they've been a novelty act for a while (the reason I didn't choose them is because I hope U2 don't become that). Queen, like Coldplay didn't have long enough a time to show what they were capable of, too bad.
