  5. Does anyone else think the sky down/ground up thing is kinda stupid? Sky Down was a reference to something involving Achtung Baby (I can't remember the context in which it was used) and now the opposite is being used to describe a tour 20 years later? Would've been cooler to call it something from NLOTH or something. "Vision Over Visibility" or something rather.

I'd say that the naming makes sense. From The Sky Down refers to the process of creating Achtung Baby, which is quite appropriate considering the fact that they essentially had to descend from the clouds of their own arrogance produced by Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum in order to produce Achtung Baby. While the ZooTV Tour is well known for being over the top, the songs of Achtung Baby are incredibly raw and "down to Earth," per say.

From the Ground Up again makes sense to me because it is the behind-the-scenes view of how 360 came to be. Granted, this could have been the title for any behind-the-scenes tour book, but I think it's fairly appropriate for 360 because of the whole spaceship theme. Also, the whole idea of 360 was new so there isn't any real model for how to tour like that. In that sense, the band was definitely building 360 from the ground up.

I wanted to post this but couldn't find the words.
  8. Also, the phrase "Vision Over Visibility" has caught on quite rapidly as one of Bono's very overt references to scripture. If they wanted to release a book regarding religious faith and the influence it has had on U2, it could be appropriately titled "Vision Over Visibility."
  9. A) I wouldn't say they had to come down from their arrogance after JT and Rattle and Hum, if anything it was the opposite, they weren't arrogant enough and they were way TOO humble. I thought "From The Sky Down" referenced a biblical thing as well? Like One dropping on their laps from somewhere other than the band (i.e God).

    B) It was just an example, not an actual suggestion.

    C) And yeah "From The Ground Up" does make sense in context of the stage, but the implied connection between the movie and the tour doesn't make sense to me.
  10. I like the name "From The Sky Down" not as enthusiastic about "From The Ground Up" but I don't care that much really...
  11. Yeah I agree that the two don't really make much sense if looked at from the perspective that the two are connected (ie opposites as the names seem to suggest). But I will admit that I did not make that immediate connection...
