1. I've listened to this band so much recently that I have to create a topic for them. We need a discussion thread for this band.

One of the many influential bands to come out of the 90s with two ridiculously outstanding masterpieces: Weezer (also known as The Blue Album) and Pinkerton. This raises a question: which one is better? That can be discussed.

For those who haven't heard of Weezer, I'd recommend both of those albums massively. That also goes for people who have only listened to the main songs - like 'Buddy Holly' and 'My Name Is Jonas'.

Weezer have albums past the 90s, albeit not that good. They did have hits which include 'Hash Pipe', 'Beverly Hills' and 'Pork and Beans'.

    Let's get discussin'.

Also, possibly my favourite song from the band:

  2. I've never listened to them but I have heard of them (in fact, seen of them) since there's a sticker of them on the wall of my favorite pub. Time to give them a listen. Report later I shall
  3. These guys were great.

Pinkerton is great but I prefer The Blue Album.
  4. Can't choose wich one is better, but in my opinion, Weezer is such an underrated band...They're really great!

  5. I don't know. Every time I listen to Pinkerton, it gets better and better. The theme to the entire album is thrilling and it's so ambient and personal. The Blue Album is one of those fluky albums that a band has difficulty following up. Luckily, Pinkerton became good.
  6. The occasional trip through their pre-2000's work is always a lot of fun.

IN all honesty, I haven't listened to either of them in a while - maybe a couple of YEARS. I really should dig up those two discs.

They have some solid 2000 tunes. I was absolutely thrilled when The Green Album came out. It has some fun tunes. I kind of lost interest afterwards (Maladroit has some good tunes but also some bad ones). I will always be a fan of "Perfect Situation." Nice song and and very attractive girl (you know the one) in the video.
  8. I listened to The Green Album today actually and although it isn't that good an album, it has its moments. I really cannot stand 'Island In The Sun', however. The album is extremely short too - only comes in at under 30 minutes.
  9. "Island in the Sun" was a pretty big hit back in 2001. I agree with you that it's a pretty lame song even though it is also a bit catchy, however. Sticks like bubblegum.

Songs like "Glorious Day" and "Knock Down, Drag Out" were two tracks that I always enjoyed.
