1987-09-17 - Boston
Tour: Joshua Tree Tour
Songs played: 21
Audio recordings: 3
  1. I'd like to suggest something. Since we could be paying for this how about anyone who downloads it puts a small amount in the first charity collection box aimed their way this christmas?
  2. The Edge fucked up the Streets intro and there are a few mistakes here and there but this is a very nice show overall. Truly nice. Very worth the small price I paid for it

Have you noticed the sound differences during Exit (first minute)? Interesting to hear, I think they had audience microphones mixed with the soundboard source (this was going to be a part of Rattle And Hum after all).

    Done.

    (or will be done again.)
  4. and once again folks at this website missing the point.

Copying some information from their website:

Why aren't all of the concerts available for download? Although we own rights to these recordings, in many cases others have rights as well, including performers and song publishers. We do not make a concert available for download unless all rights have been properly cleared. Do artists get paid when their concerts are played in the Concert Vault? Do they get paid for downloads? Absolutely. We pay licensing fees for every single track played by every listener to the three major Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) - ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. These payments ultimately go to the performing artists and song publishers. A large percentage of the sales of downloads go directly to performers and song publishers.

From a commercial / legal perspective, this is no different than a U2 commercial release. No different than posting links to an official U2 release, for example. Mods of this website are not only posting links to this material and encouraging to download it, but also claiming U2start activities are legal and doubting about Wolfgang's website. Great.

From an ethical perspective, you overseeing the fact that this is an unreleased complete recording from a '87 show in pristine quality, that has been released for the masses. When was last time this happened? I can't remember it.

Where are all those requests begging U2 management to "release soundboards at a fair price"? This is exactly that. 5$ for an unreleased soundboard.
This guys did it, in a legal way (no "stolen" stuff or whatsoever), at a very fair price, and complete material in excellent quality.
We know these guys have a solid background, are a respected website, and potential to release more U2 shows.

How is this site supporting this project: releasing all their stuff and encouraging everyone to download it for free.

    Great.

PS. And please stop using the term "bootleg" as a generic term for live recordings.
  5. thanks for having this one
  6. doubting about Wolfgang's website.

Maybe you should read the posts again Buenas noches, Diego.
  7. only a Satisfaction snippet? Really?

Well said, i must admit i was starting to think (as i said before) for $5;00 why are people asking to share this and not just downloading it as it isn't a lot. Then perhaps some of you didn't realise that this recording is not the same R&H outtakes U2start already has.
I suppose i go back to the days of buying live cd's from record fairs and don't mind spending on good quality recordings which this is.

  9. yeah, take a look at the U2gigs comments for this show, they point out the fact that this is one of the very few shows of the 80s that feature almost no snippets by mr Hewson!
  10. Amazing. Thanks for the upload Sergio!

If this is the case then i guess it may be morally wrong .....
But there is also an official site U2 can legitimately offer up their concert recordings ( for a small fee) which many of us already pay a considerable annual fee to be part of!... which would 100% not blur the boundaries between bootlegged and official material.

and lets face it can you honestly say you have never downloaded / recorded an artists album without paying for it?

    i doubt it!!
