Just so you know, I emailed Greater Union (seeing that Marion Megaplex is the only cinema capable of showing this film) and they said:

    Dear Peter,

Please see the information below regarding your previous query. It doesn't provide too much information, but basically, to screen any movie / event, a distributor (such as Sony Pictures, Universal, Paramount, FOX etc) have to pick up the contract / exhibiting rights. I would say that if any of the major distributors pick this up, there may be a good chance that we would screen this at Marion, but again, I can not say for certain. The best thing to do for the time being would be to check on our website once every week or two.

I hope this helps a little.

    Thanks, and regards,

So it all depends on the distributor.

Little info there Peter, but yea, it actually depends on the distributor...that would be National Geographic? Are they good at this? I mean, it is supposed to premiere on the 25th of January, and now there are rumors of it premiering in dublin in february...what the hell?^

Anyways, welcome to U2Start Peter, I see this is your first post! Would you introduce yourself over here : Welcome to U2Start y'all, so that we all get the chance to greet you? Just open a new topic!
  3. just checked the Dublin Film Festival page and line up and U23D doesn't get a mention anywhere. Not yet at least
  4. hey!!
very very interesting interview to the editor of U23D!!
highly recommended, he explains how the 3D works and a lot of other interesting stuff!!!

    http://www.u2swisshome.com/shared/e/owicki.htm

EDIT: it wasn't a direct link, so I changed it!!
  5. Addendum to the Cool News of Yesterday:

I found out in an article from Portfolio.com that the shortlist of theaters on the U2 3D website is only temporary...

The film will debut at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19, before opening in IMAX theaters on January 23. On February 15, the film will begin its wide release on some of the 1000 digital 3D screens in North America.

That's just a week before the national UK release date.

So, don't worry for all the U2 fans who think they have to drive miles and miles to see it. If you wait, it will come.
  6. i've sent an e-mail to the Dublin film festival organizers to see if theres any chance that U2:3D will be shown because it isn't on the official schedule at the moment.
