Not because of the meaning, but the way he sings it.
Taking a bit of extra air, singing it in a slightly different rythm, with passion, through a voice that has lived a vivid life for decades.

I was just thinking about this too, he sings the verses so great. With this emotion that makes it seem like it might have been one vocal take? Imperfections and all make it feel so much more alive.

However my main criticism now is that I stop listening to it after about 2 minutes, (whenever Edge's guitar starts) because the song feels like it ends for me by then since it's just the band sounding average and a repeat of the chorus
  2. I like Breathe (alternate) waaaaaaaaaaaay more than Ordinary Love. Love the little flutey thing you can hear in the background around 90 seconds in. Seriously hope they play this.
  3. Is it just me or do I hear vague links between the lyrics and themes for Every Breaking Wave and Ordinary Love?

    Every breaking wave
    On the shore
Tells the next one there’ll be one more

The sea wants to kiss the golden shore
    The sunlight warms your skin
All the beauty that's been lost before wants to find us again

    I don’t know if I’m that strong
    I don’t know if I’m that strong
Don’t know if I’m that strong
    To be somebody
    To need someone

Are we tough enough for ordinary love?

We can't fall any further, if
    We can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

    And the

'The sea throws rock together but time leaves us polished stones' line fits with the ocean/wave theme.
  4. Got an email from amazon.de saying there's a delay.
  5. Got an email from universal records austria, with the names of the stores in austria that will get some copies of ordinary love tomorrow.
I already had contact with two of them, and they will send me one piece each. One store in Salzburg will get 10 pieces, so I'm asking me how limited this release really is?

Has anyone posted that Brian Burton has been given a music credit on the track? I find that interesting. And I'm guessing if he gets a credit on this track it'll be the same for most of the album too.

Yes, I noticed that. It'd be interesting to see what the album looks like! OL not bad, not great; good song, very much OK for a movie.
