1. But the synth is probably the best part... the guitar just sounds so "typical Edge" imo but yeah good song, good video, good start to this era.
  2. Which synth are we talking about? The sound that begins at 00:16 in the video is a guitar. To me it feels like the synths are kept in the background of this song.

The main "dum-da, dum-da, dumda-da-da" at the very beggining is a syntheziser. And the main riff 00:16 is a heavily treated guitar, indeed, but it could be a synth and we would notice no difference
  4. I was rather sure it was a guitar the whole time. It doesn't quite sound like a synth.

  5. It sounded to me like a guitar as well.
  6. Still digging this song after 10 days
  7. Really hoping the video-wall behind them in the video comes on tour. Love the Nine Inch Nails style.
  8. Yep, but way much bigger please!
  9. Have my own selection of favourite U2-songs in a playlist on Spotify. Playing it on shuffle now. Gives me A Day Without Me seguing into Invisible which segues into Cedars of Lebanon. Must say, it all fits very well.
  10. Someone mentioned the idea for Invisible leading right into City of Blinding Lights..listened to COBL yesterday and I gotta say, it would be awesome.

I'm referring to both, the guitar is kind of going through a synth sound I'm sure of it throughout the song. I don't know how Edge is going to play that live I imagine it's going to sound like an e-bow live.
  12. If you look at that making of video there's a couple seconds where it shows Edge playing it and it sounds identical.

There are plenty of effects processors that let you simulate synth sounds, it'll be no different than when Edge has had odd guitar sounds in the past!
