Tell us something about yourself, who are you and what do you do for a living?
I am Dirk, live in the east part of Holland. With my girlfirend Daniëlle and dog Enzo. 43 years old. I' am a mortgage and insurance advisor. Visited 12 U2 shows, first in 1989 Amsterdam, which only takes an hour, because of Bono's voice problems.

How did you become a fan of U2, tell us how it happened?
When I was about 13-14 years old, there was 1 hour music college, you can bring your own music with you. Some have U2, liked Pride and New Years day, I will Follow. I became a big fan in 1985, at the time when Sunday Bloody Sunday was a huge hit in the Netherlands, also because of the Red Rocks clip.

Where do you most prefer to listen to U2?
I prefer listen to U2 concerts on friday eveneing, in bath with a six pack of beer.

When you heard The Rising (Springsteen album) how did it compare to the themes of All That You Can't Leave Behind, particularly as they were released at the time America was experiencing devastation and loss?
I have to admit that it is a while ago that I have listened to both albums. I mainly listen to concerts.

The Rising is something different due to 9/11. And All that you can't leave behind more about personal losses. Are my first thoughts.

What is your favorite U2 book, and why?
Book: U2 by U2. Because it is their story.

Can you tell us one song (U2 or not) that you wish you had written?
The Unforgettable Fire

Does anyone in your family or one of your friends like U2? If so, did they introduce you to U2, or did you "convert" them?
My younger brother, my dad and late mum. Also most of my (ex) girlfriends.

What is your favorite U2 videoclip, and why?
Sunday Bloody Sunday.

How different is U2 compared to other artists that you like?
U2 is unique you can not compare to any other artist. My other favorite artist is Springsteen and the E Streetband. Mainly because of his changing setlists, 3 hour shows and also the E Streetband.

What are your hobbies and interests away from U2, musical or otherwise?
Springsteen. Drinking beer with friends. Everything which has to do with racing. I collect Ferrari scalemodels.

At first the name of our dog was a joke, because he only listens to ENZO!!!!!

U2 will be my first music love for ever
I always liked Springsteen and do not forget the E Streetband, without them Springsteen was not that big, but he has also some sing a long shalala songs which I do not like.

He came for me at the same level as U2. Mainly because I am a concert lover and listen many to complete live shows.
In 2012, a half year after my mother died at 63, I visited for the first time a Springsteen show in Cologne with my dad, he is a long time Springsteen fan, like my mother. It was very emotional. And after that I visited 2 Springsteen concerts in Nijmegen and Monchengladbach.

The big thing that U2 can learn from Springsteen is the variety of the setlists and honouring the old records.
Many great songs of U2 nowadays are not performed at all or did not played the way the song deserves.
In case of U2 the concept of the tour is leading the setlist and the way the songs are played. To my opinion it should be the other way around.

When you have listened to 2-3 concerts of each leg of the tour you know all and there are no surprises anymore.
The 3 Springsteen shows I have visited in a year are 3 total completely different shows.

(The 360 concept although is the best stage for performing a concert)

I am not complaining about the fact that we as U2 fans have to wait a long time for there is a new record out. When you see the history, this is normal for U2, for me in 1984 it takes a very long time to wait for The Joshua Tree in 1987.

So nothing news at the moment

great to have you here even though for this season i won't be a ferrari supporter as i usually am .. i can not be for a team dressed in red and black!

Ferrari is not just only F1, I am more interested in GT and endurance racing like the 24 hours of Le Mans and the history of Ferrari in Sportscar and GT racing.
