  1. North Star – U2 song in transformers 3

    Does anyone know this or ever noticed it in the movie

    There are 15 songs in Transformers 3 as well as an additional 8 songs that are on the soundtrack album but weren’t actually in the movie. In fact, there are only three songs from the movie on the soundtrack album, which is a shame because there are a number of really good songs that the album completely misses. Among the songs missing from the Transformers Dark of the Moon soundtrack are U2′s North Star, Aerosmith’s Sweet Emotion and Biffy Clyro’s Many of Horror. U2′s North Star is the first song in the movie, playing when Carlye gives Sam a stuffed animal bunny rabbit. It also plays when Sam visits Carlye at work.

  4. It's a studio version. A studio snippet exists and surfaced somewhat in 2012.

    It did not appear on the soundtrack as U2 actually planned releasing their own album close to the movie release where obviously the song was planned to be in. Well, U2 and their albums - a story of its own.

    I think the only thing we can hope for is a B-side on one of the next singles as I'm sure that song now does not fit into their album sounds anymore and is dropped from regular albums currently.
  5. North Star was my favorite out of the new songs played during the 2010-11 shows. Hope we see it one day.

  7. Rewatching Transformers 3 now in preparation for 4 (though really robots transform into vehicles, and things explode). Hearing the first notes of North Star really make me want the whole song.
