I'm sure the songs will sound fresh again when heard live.
    +1
  2. been mostly listening to boy/october/war these past few days and - yes, I go way back here, musically, but - I realized how larry's drum play is much more in the foreground, you know? it actually stands out a lot and I don't have that feeling much on SOI. does anyone else feel the same or would like to point out a SOI song to me I should have a closer listen to? I get this is a bit random, but... yeah, just a thought I had.
  3. ^ Lucifer's Hands and Crystal Ballroom. Definitely worth paying attention to - there's so much happening everywhere on those two ... yet why they were included as *extra* tracks really makes you wonder why.

Been playing Cedarwood Road more so than most of the other songs for some reason. It's incredible.
  4. They're two of the best tracks on the album. Way better than some of the rubbish on it
  5. listening a lot to crystal ballroom, will pay some attention on the drums lucifer's hands I gotta admit I don't listen to a lot... though I suppose that confirms the feeling I had, the drums are not very present on the actual album?

very true, and I think it's sometimes safe to say that about Adam's bass playing now. Edge used to say that Adam played lead bass and he (Edge) played rhythm. During that period, there's something to that statement. Not really anymore
  7. gotta admit, when I heard the bass for volcano I was thrilled, it sounded unusual for modern u2... and then I was kinda disappointed to hear edge came up with the melody instead of adam.

    Me too.
  9. I think most of the fans and critics agreed that Adam's playing on NLOTH was some of his best ever. And SOI is not much behind in my opinion.
  10. No matter how I look at it, Volcano is Adam's song.
