Being the biggest kick ass rock and roll band is the last thing they wanted to be. What they wanted was to be a country band, playing country music!

I like the poppy sound of U2 and the added synths of this album. I haven't gotten through my second listen yet because I keep going back and forth between EBW and SFS, but I agree with the user that said this album doesn't have enough really high or really low points, not an album I'd skip a song from but not an album I'll listen to every week like I do some of their others. I'll have to let the hype die for some of the songs I like and give time to let others grow before I can say exactly how I feel but I will say it's definitely better than NLOTH and HTDAAB.
  2. Anybody know what happened to 'north star '??
    Really looking forward to that.
  3. Well, Invisible was the song that got me excited by U2 again when I heard it. For me it was a massive departure from their NLOTH stuff, and this got me very excited about their other songs on the new album.

This new album is everything I had hoped Invsible would represent - a fresh brand new sound, which is more relevant now than in the last 14 years. A huge departure from which is the old U2 of the 00's, and in with the new.

This album celebrates a new era for them, while still giving the occassional nod to past themes and sounds. Brilliant!!!
  4. 16 souls
    12 yeahs
    4 hearts
    1 knee
    22 Barbaras

  5. I'm so happy that they kept the themes of Invisible and ran with them for this album.
  6. I have this feeling that we might get a second album before the tour starts next summer. I don't see how most of these songs as good as they are will transfer over live. It's exciting but I also feel like U2 might want a lot more songs to pick from for the next tour since they've scraped the barrel of tunes no the last few albums. Anyone else get that vibe?
  7. If you have twitter search for U2, and see what the world thinks of the album being in theire iTunes!

Invisible was well enough in a live format, I'm sure U2 can get any of these songs to work even if they rework them a little. Which is something I love about U2, the way their live songs are constantly evolving and give you something different from the album versions.

Also anyone know of any websites with good tabs for U2 songs? I want to learn some of the new ones but am not good enough on guitar to ever figure songs out by myself.

Just ask for those you want. Already got down Raised By Wolves, Troubles and Volcano (besides Every Breaking Wave, which I tabbed back in 2010) myself, I will tab and publish them tomorrow I think.

  10. A lot think they've been hacked.

  11. Wankers, they get music for free and still complaining

    Ah, good man!

Song For Someone and Cedarwood Road would be much appreciated.
