1. every u2 new album takes me time to assimilate, SOI in the first
  2. Too bad as it's (still) the best album since Pop.
  3. At least we have a closer that will make sense for the upcoming tour.

13 will be great as the lights fade to black.

  4. But when it comes to Bono’s offshore financial dealings and The Edge’s controversial plan for homes in Malibu, there may still be some ‘splainin’ to do.

Why did they have to mention that silly thing? For critics, it's like they have to say "Bono is a tax evader" to be taken seriously or something. This was supposed to be a review of SOE and they brought that up out of nowhere. It's the new "capitalist pig".

    More of the same...

The day a U2 review can just REVIEW THE ALBUM without any snarky remarks or reminders of 'hey U2 is kind of an old band, remember The Joshua Tree?', I think I'll probably keel over and die of shock.

Oh my god it's so frustrating. Why must this be mentioned? There are thousands of things positive to talk about when it comes to U2 but they always harp on the 3-4 negative aspects. I'm not much into typing long comments but in person I can get pretty livid about this subject.
  7. Meh, fuck reviews good or bad

And fuck people constantly bringing in that shit to the music discussion. Same critics probably have no issue reviewing Chris Brown when he’s literally beaten a woman (Rihanna). But please, keep talking about Edge not being able to build homes in Malibu or Bono’s accountant doing his job and keeping Bono’s money safe and growing, those are much worse.

I’ll be over here enjoying a new U2 album that I can’t get enough of.
  8. I'm too lazy to look back but...

Is SOE better than its predecessor?
  9. depends... how much did you like SOI? what did you like about SOI? what would you have liked that SOI had?

For me, no. SOI is better.
But for me, both albums are in the top half, so, it doesn't really matter if I think is better or worse than SOI...
  10. I don't think it's better. But, I also have a hard time considering the two albums separately. For me, they're always going to be Songs of Innocence and of Experience from here on in...
