1. U2 are Irish, and I actually think that there's a clear element of racism here. If U2 had been British, they'd be treated as crown jewels. But they're Irish, Irish are simple-minded potato eaters (I've heard this so many times in the UK), so let's show them what's what. Seriously, fuckers - if mild swearing is allowed in the forum.
  2. NME already ridiculed SOI without engaging in any way with its content. It's not worth the paper it is printed on.

    Exactly my point
  4. if anyone else had released this album you guys wouldn't care that it was given a 2 or 3/5. it's honestly no better than that. even that's generous

Possibly. Or I'd have thought I'd have discovered a new unbelievably fantastic band

If you are aware of bands that make this kind of music (beyond the usual suspects: NGHFB, Broken Bells, Coldplay to a lesser extent etc.), please let me know. I want more and I don't necessarily care it's U2 - I'm a taker.

What exactly are you expecting from U2 at this point out of interest ?

I don’t think you can speak on behalf of how we’d feel had another artist released this material. You can say you don’t like it or you agree with the negative reviews but you can’t tell other people how to feel about it. A lot of people disagree with you, that’s something you need to accept.

    +1

This album is amazing! A definite 5/5 from me! Frankly no one else could release this album...I mean they could try, but...

Bit off topic, but has anyone listened to "Ahk-toong Bay-Bi"? It's a pretty interesting cover of Achtung Baby, but supports my point above.
  10. Also, it's NME guys. Isn't the only thing NME is known for is being wrong about The Smiths?
