Hi all!

My girlfriend and I are getting married on 25th October and our honeymoon will be in New York, and of course U2 will be present (not in person obviously, but if you want to come they're welcome) at the wedding and on the trip.

So I would like to ask some help guys

I wonder what can be seen on U2 references there in Manhattan to complete my planing.

And I would also like to know your opinion on what songs you think that may sound at the wedding. Although I know that some songs should not ask for them ...

Easy wedding songs: All I Want Is You and even the new Song for Someone I think. Wouldn't go with One or With or Without you. Realistic, yes, but meant for a wedding? I wouldn't think so.

Wedding songs: A Man And A Woman (that's about love, right?), Mercy (too "rock n' roll" for a wedding?), the cover of Everlasting Love will be great.
You're asking for U2 touring sites in New York? I'll let an actual New Yorker answer that.

I had thought Song for Someone, mainly for the novelty. And A Man and A Woman was also on my list from the beginning

I must also say, that as we speak here in Spanish and most of the people who attend the wedding will not understand anything alike, do not say more than my English will be the most advanced, and you see it's no big deal, (surely they will not realize the songs, this is more my thing hehe), is not entirely important meaning of the songs and would guide them through the melody or rhythm they have.

For example, some of that I thought are these:

- An cat dub / Into the heart (When we get where all)

- Every Breaking Wave (When the cake arrives)

- Slow Dancing with Willie Nelson (For Bridal Dance)

And in general;
- A man and a Woman
- The miracle drug
- Scarlet
- Sweetest Thing

- If you wear That velvet dress
- Song for someone

- Can not help falling in love

How do you see it? I'll need a few more songs, the day will be long ...

About U2 touring sites in New York, yes, I´m looking for those references in there. (I have to confess that with all that is happening right now, my dream would be if they do a performance there on those dates

I always thought Slow Dancing can be a marvelous tune to dance in a wedding, but Willie Nelson kills it for me. I prefer the version in the Stay single.
Your list seems pretty good. How about Spanish Eyes? That will be great too.

Slow Dancing, All I Want Is You and ULTRAVIOLET (why does nobody mention it?) would be my preferences for a wedding dance

As for the "U2 at Manhattan" references... I don't have the slightest idea. Lo siento

I don't see any U2 songs fit for a wedding. Although, if you're just going for melody, then many of these suggestions are fine I suppose. If you're going for Velvet Dress, it must be the Jools Holland version.

Sergio sorry but I'm not sure using ultraviolet for the wedding ... at least not for the moment where I want to, which would be while we are eating, and I see it a little "noisy". The same happens with Love is Blindness, I'm not sure using it.

About If You Wear That Velvet Dress, I'm listening it and if I play it I think it would be live version from Mexico...

And well, besides music, about U2 references in manhattan, in its day was the U2 WAY, but from what I read was temporary. I also assume that something will at some Hard Rock Cafe or something no?
