  1. chris was terrible. not his fault necessarily, his voice is just not made for a u2 song. then again, it didn't feel like he felt the songs at all, not beyond OMG I'M SINGING FOR U2 anyway.

  6. About Bruce ´s performance ... he did a good version of Still havent found ..but Streets is not a song for him ...maybe they choose a wrong song for him
  7. I agree, he did pretty great in ISHFWILF, but his voice just isn't made for Streets.
    Chris Martin was ok, not great, but ok
  8. Chris Martin : couldn't go full throttle. Like playing singstar => loving the song, but knowing you can't handle it so 'sing' it quietly on a tone that kinda does fit you.

  9. I first watched this in a restaurant where the sound was muted, and the words were on the screen for the hearing impaired. The minute I could tell it was "Streets," I knew Bruce would have a lot of trouble. After listening to it, as someone who used to be a big Bruce fan, it was pretty bad. "Still" was a much better song to try, and after listening to it, Bruce's 2014 voice was passable. In 1987, he would've done much better. At 65 or so, he just can't hit the notes. Maybe he should've tried to sing "Bass Trap."

    Chris Martin? I'm not much of a Coldplay guy. I just saw them as a decent mix of U2 and Radiohead without the genius of either. Just a decent band. But Chris did ok on "Beautiful Day." It was great to see the band. Sure, Bono has had vocal issues on these two songs, but after watching Martin do a passable job, it really just made me miss Bono even more. Yes, the 50 something Bono is not the lethal vocal Monster he was on many of the 1987 shows, but this was a perfect moment to realize just how much he is missed.

    I wasn't exactly complimentary to the guest vocalists, but I appreciate them filling in. CM's "SubstitutU2" shirt was funny. And I loved seeing the band!
  10. Chris Martin was ok, sang WOWY better than Bono has since 1992. All I could see was the word 'tit' on his top though. Bruce must have been covering the version of streets from joshua tree opening night or Sarejevo.
