1) How did you get such a big collection? How long did it take?
2) Have you listened to them all?
3) Do you STILL listen to them all? Do you go in phases? Or do you have a few favorite shows / song versions by now and stick to those?
4) Do you have time to listen to anything but U2?

oh!!! ... i began december 2005 i think ... when i became my internet connection .. i had a few bootlegs before , i bought them , or downloaded by friends, but it wasn't that much ...
It took me about maybe 8 months to collect them all ! With everyday hard work !! and most of all with the help of all these great guys on the forums ... especially Mr. Batfink -The Great Dutchman !!! thanks to him again !! He'd uploaded so much boots for me !!! and all these great forums : "the larry mullen band.com" - "u2star" - "u2mp3's" - "u2achtung" - and the dead ones like "u2emporium" or "extimo.com" ...

2) Have you listened to them all?
Not completely ... sure you take a listen , to see how they sound ... but only a few songs for the badest qualities ...

3) Do you STILL listen to them all? Do you go in phases? Or do you have a few favorite shows / song versions by now and stick to those?
4) Do you have time to listen to anything but U2?

First i did was to go on here on U2 vertigo tour ... check what show they played "today" ... put the show on my winamp player (or my mp3 player) .. and listen to it all along the day ... but after a while , every day U2 , was too much for my ears !!
Now ...when it comes to me , i listen to one show ... a great sound quality show ! it's most enjoyable !!
Or i listen to the compilations "the best of .... Tour" i've posted some time ago ...
I listen to a lot of different music .... there's not only U2 ... check The Undertow and you'll have a view of all what i'm listening to !!!

5) I was wondering about this too How much space does the collection use?
Space !!! a lot !!! and i only burn mp3's on CDR's !!! so just imagine ! i didn't count , maybe 400 CD's for more than 1000 shows ... ordered by date and tour !!

1) How did you get such a big collection? How long did it take?
I began somewhere in 2004 with a few bootlegs, it really took a long time before reaching the 250 bootlegs and from then it went really fast. And that was because of U2start, without U2start I can't imagine I'd have my collection 'complete' at the moment.

2) Have you listened to them all?
No, that would be insane! Though I listened to a lot of them, at least 150-200 different complete shows.

3) Do you STILL listen to them all? Do you go in phases? Or do you have a few favorite shows / song versions by now and stick to those?
The last months I rarely listen to any of them but I'm sure it'll be back, I listen to all the 4 star or higher bootlegs and sometimes to the 3 star bootlegs. I can't imagine I listen to other bootlegs very often if there's nothing special about it. I prefer listening to the shows I went to!

4) Do you have time to listen to anything but U2?
Yes, absolutely, I'm all into other music this period because it's quiet around U2 for a while.

I started in 1986 when I bought a bootleg CD from TUF in Bologna and before that I recorded from KRO's rocktempel the werchter concert. Then I got a tape from the rotterdam concerts in 1987 the first time I went to a U2 Gig. Since then I traded and bougt several bootlegs. Then the internet came up and from several sites and the u2hub I collected MP3's and started with Video's and DVD's since 2000. And since 2 years the torrents.Building up a lossless collection.

2) Have you listened to them all?
No yet I think 75 % but I am going on. I burn mp3 music DVD's and plat them at my work on my PC and at home untill my wife gets mad. :-)

Some shows I listen more than once, Like dublin 1993. And the earlier mentioned Batfink made a great collection with the best recordings from each tour at my request. I listen to that often.

4) Do you have time to listen to anything but U2?
MMM I must say not very much but, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Snow patrol, and simple minds come by now and then. But I always return to U2. And I always have the discussion with my wife. She doesn't understand that 1 show is not the same as the other. Or haven't you seen that DVD 15 time now? No baby same tour different show
