Can anyone help please on the following;

On your ipod when you see what memory is available, it shows you a section called other. What exactly is other on your ipod? Is it the covers you save on your files?

I don't know... maybe its the text. Or the software stuff inside of it. It takes up some needed space though... urrgh

Software, if you use your ipod as a harddrive to back up files etc it will all be listed as 'other'. How much space is it exactly?much

Thats what I used to do with my Ipod, Put the bootlegs on there the sync it with my iTunes, it saved so much space on my Laptop. Now however i have an external harddrive

If you've got a video iPod, it'll be photos and stuff you've got on there and covers. Basically anything not music -related. That's my understanding of it.

If you can't sync it via iTunes, then it's classed as 'Other'. You have Music, Podcasts, Videos, Photos and Games which if it's not one of those, then it'll be there.

Covers don't take up much by the way as do games or photos.
