Solid good! Got yerself a new Les Paul... nice. I would love a white LP like Edge's.

Not that I've room to complain, I have some nice guitars.

Yeah, you do have a rather tidy collection

But yeah, it's great to walk into my room, look at it and think "sexy beast..."

Once I get some new strings for it, because the factory ones are bollocks (I'm a Roto Red man myself, although I know Edge goes for Roto Blues - or rather, my vague research intimated thus), it should sound like a dream, it does already

Nothing like a good set of humbuckers to get the groove going although it's kinda masochistic fun trying to re-configure my effects pedal to compensate for a deeper tone...

    All fun and games though!

And thanks to everyone re. birthday greetings, it's been a good day - but Steve, don't give me grief over the 'lols', I'm seeking medical help...

Good to hear you picked up an LP. Anything weird happen on here while I was gone? (I was in New York)

No idea, everything is weird when your mental state is under the weather lol (i.e. exams...)

How was New York by the way? Were there Irish, Italians, Jews and Hispanics? Religious nuts and political fanatics?

    Sorry, I couldn't resist

haha. It was nice, but not my kind of place. I'm so tired of people, there were just so many of them!

Yeah, cities are ridiculous, New York just takes the piss by going to extremes I guess. I can't stand London, that's probably the nearest equivalent that I've experienced - Norwich is a small city but it's manageable

Paris is the absolute worst. Although I do love it.
  8. I love Boston.

    A house doesn't make a home
  9. I wish I owned the Boston DVD, I feel so much shame!

It's not AMAZING, it's a fairly standard Elevation show BUT there are some really great moments.

However, you can say that for most shows.

The key ones are Sydney, PopMart and Slane. After that, it's if your fancy taketh is. I'd say you need both Chicago and Milan to get a good feel for Vertigo, and with Boston, it's just a nice show with some nice moments. Not my favourite Elevation show, but a good one nonetheless.

Granted, best Beautiful Day and Streets for me (although that's tied with the Washington '92 version, I love that version) and a great Elevation Fly performance, but other than that...

...it's not really that standout? I guess it does what it's meant to - capture the spirit of a great tour.

I personally think that the South Bend show, an Earl's Court show or a Madison Square show would have been better for a DVD, but I guess the showcase show was the Slane DVD...
