To be honest, I think it's a poor effort up until 'Yes' after that i think it's a very good album. The first few songs, '42' springs to mind, are musically boring in my opinion and they're married with crap lyrics. Something which Chris Martin is very good at. Don't want to dampen anyone's fires but I don't think it's as good as Rush of Blood and Parachutes. But that's me, i'm not the biggest fan of Coldplay. I do think some of their songs are crap, some of their lyrics are pathetic and they're just a bit one dimensional. But I do like 'Yes', 'Viva La Vida', 'Violet Hill' and 'Death And All His Friends'. But the first half of the album is very uninteresting.
Now the question is, as I've got a near pefect version of the album, do I keep it seen as though I don't particularly want to buy it?
I think I'll borrow it off someone who buys it...
I personally love the whole thing so far. I think the songs have a really unique new sound, I love the (for lack of a better term) harpsachordy sound and the loose, rough drum beats. I wish "Life in Technicolor" had lyrics, but oh well.
