That is not blasphemy! C'mon, the guy needs to leave the hard stuff to Edge!

Besides - *prepares to cross the line* - I prefer to have his hands free.

Yes...I'd keep that to yourself if I were you

You still blaspheme against the great man! You'll never see another person strike a C chord with such panache...

(Edge is better though, that's beyond debate, so credit where credit's due for inferring to the bleedin' obvious! )

Steve m'man, please note that not EVERYONE is sick of One, or any others that are claimed to be "overplayed" etc. Everyone has their own opinion, but I wouldn't say that everyone is sick of us! The only version I dislike is on the Chicago DVD when Bono's guitar is far too loud lol.

I wonder if Who's Gonna Ride is their best song. It's got two versions that both rock, and it does live as well. If only they played it more.... And its def better than NYD.
  6. Streets.

    My other favorites:
    City of Blinding Lights
    Beautiful Day
    Stay
    One
    The Fly
    Bad
    The Unforgettable Fire
  7. Streets, and homecoming
  8. Great idea. Subjective vs. objective. Subjecively i'll take ASOH but objectively it can only be streets. The only song newbies and hardcores both love. Bad is a close second.
  9. I think Streets is by far the best. I mean, it's THE U2-song, everyone likes it, they like it themselves and almost every time it's good...

But for me personally it's Electrical Storm (The Orbit Mix). The emotion (in an album version!), the beautiful solo at the end. There are just no words for...

Other songs I like a lot are SATS, Stay, Lemon, New York, Dirty Day, The Fly, Zoo Station, COBL and BTBS

    Pop - same as Zooropa
    ATYCLB - Kite, Walk On
    ...

Steve, aren't you forgetting something? Come on guys! You can't leave Passengers and Ito Okashi out of your lists
  11. A song that is known also for some non-U2 fans: Streets or One

A song which know only U2 fans - Acrobat

Sorry Yuri m'man, but even speaking as a U2 fan, Acrobat is NOT their best song. Awesome, yes, but I think there are better!

    You said it, not me

But I have to say, it has crossed my mind before...if they'd been more inclined to play it live on a far more regular basis, I think it could have been a much bigger hit than it is. It makes me laugh when you here them say that it just "doesn't come alive when they play it live" - they need to listen to some bootlegs!

I mean, I always remember the quote in U2 by U2 when Bono was talking about a conversation he had with Jimmy Iovine about house music, and JI was pretty blown away by it when Bono played the demo and JI is no mug...he was the one who said AIWIY could have been their greatest hit if they'd paid a bit more care and attention to it, and I think he was right there too...
