1. I always thought that the Streets intro is the longest of all the U2-songs. Then I found out it is Zooropa after all. But if you include the Passengers project it's actually One Minute Warning; 3 mins 28 secs before the lyrics starts.

Anyway, the list with longer intros than one minute:

    U2
    Zooropa 2mins 14 secs
    Streets 1:48
    Into The Heart 1:44
    Mothers.. 1:28
    October 1:28
    Race Against Time 1:26
    City Of Blinding Lights 1:18
    Mofo 1:07
    Grace 1:04

    Passengers:
    One Minute Warning 3:28
    Always Forever Now 3:14
    Slug 1:44
    Beach Sequence 1:24
    Ito Okashi 1:14
    Your Blue Room 1:09

And the longest OUTTRO is by far All I Want Is You...2:44 (!)

that Zooropa intro is a bastard.
  3. The Zooropa intro has always annoyed me. Far too long. Half of it you can't hear anyway. Into The Heart is my favourite long intro.

Aussie, shame on you lol. The Zooropa intro. is legendary! But Into The Heart is rather good, I must agree. My favourite intro. to a song has to be The Cry (although I take the point that it's a song of its own), but Electric Co. sounds so much better when they use that...

On albums though, Ultra-Violet, UTEOTW and Streets are up there for me as intros.

it's actually 2 songs. They just chucked them together. I love the intro

Before you all shoot me, I start to like the Z intro when I can actually hear it, but there's a good minute before that happens.

The Electric Co. is incomplete without The Cry. Period. They should never play it without The Cry. But we digress.

So you also dislike Exit? That silence and slow build up just adds atmosphere. Both songs excellent.

I also happen to like The Electric Co. minus The Cry. I prefer it to The Cry actually

Digress we do indeed. As far as live stuff goes, can't beat WGRYWH whenever Edge fires out the opening chord, and you hear the synths in the background, and the spines raise on the back of your neck and generally you go nuts - incredible.

Hey, now we're back on common ground. Not much of a 'long' intro though is it?

'Fraid not, still kicks arse lol.

Where would Exit come in this? That takes a hell of a long time to get going...

EDIT - just noticed Gerard brought that up lol...
