  1. Has U2 ever played New Year's Day with the extra verse that is on the album version, but not the single version? I really like that verse...

  2. I believe they experimented with the last verse live during the "pre-War" tour. Try a few of the 1982 dates.
  3. I don't think they've ever played the 'Golden age' verse but they did add some alternative lyrics during the early December 82 gigs so check them out. Manchester was the most experimental if I remember correctly.
  4. I think they played the complete version in Croke Park in 1985, the famous "homecoming" concert.

    Nope.

    It has the "Maybe the time is right", which is rare enough. But not the last verse.

    It's not an extra verse but more of a deleted verse. It's on the recording but live they have usually not played it.

  8. check out the december 6th 1982 gig. i found it thanks to this thread, it also just has the "time is right" high part, no "golden age" verse, but it's soundboard 5/5 quality.

    ??? i have that concert from u2start but it does not include the lines you said it would..
    do have i the wrong one, or do you meant another date??
