1. What do you guys think of Another Time, Another Place, Twilight, A Day Without Me, Stories For Boys, Last Night On Earth and Do You Feel Loved?

Would be great if they'd play some of those

Meh, can't say I'd be too fussed. Stories For Boys is a great snippet for Vertigo, but as a full revival? Basically, I can't say I'm gonna be upset if none of them make a return, except Last Night On Earth - now I think about it, that's awesome live, a great rock tune!
  3. I'd like Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses... this song is really growing on me!

    I would not.

Good old boy! Full electric, naturally. If Edge were to play it like he did for ZooTV BUT stick the Vertigo solo on the end, I'd die a happy man.

I love the Vertigo versions because the guys played it in the original key (I have this thing about retaining originality) but I wasn't too keen on the effect he used after the first verse - give us epic delay and distortion Monsieur L'Edge! Basically, play it in G but like ZooTV, and stick the solo on the end, and you have a perfect song.

Me neither. I heard the original on the Guitar Hero advert earlier tonight, still thought it was crap. I don't mind U2's cover, but I'm not hot on covers (unless the cover outdoes the original). Snippets are fine for me, especially when they work e.g. putting Butterflies With Bullet Wings, People I Don'T Know Are Trying To Kill Me or I Can See For Miles in Electric Co., but playing whole songs? I just think that, when you consider how many songs the guys have written, surely they could come up with setlists composed entirely of their own material? It's better too

why not? then again, Fortunate Son was better
  7. I want exit back, definitely.

and because I'm a freak like that - seconds

Seconds is more likely to return than Exit, and I can't see that returning lol! Exit and Please are the two songs that I think will never return to the live stage because of the issues associated, Exit because of the murder trial and Please because of the middle 8 lyrics in the wake of 9/11...

...crying shame, but I guess you can understand the band's reasoning.
  9. imagine if this site were here, and the time present is 1997. and we're all talking about reviving SBS. they thought they could never match the mood at Denver, but they brought it back because it was a hit. perhaps any of the songs could come back if they wanted to play them.

i'm hoping they have a tour like the rolling stones did in 2002/2003, and play stuff thats never been played live before. ever heard of the licks tour? the tour that supported a comp. their best songs and some rarities. imagine if U2 did that. that would be awesome.

    I do, but it's a shame indeed.
those songs are too great to be played at home only
maybe they can re-interpret them at some point (although if that means for something bad to happen in the world first, I hope not... erg, what a conflict).

What a conflict indeed...I agree, it would be great to see them return, but it's just. Argh. Damn moral obligations!
