  1. Everyone is going to hate me but, lets be honest Zooropa is not as good as evryone likes to think. I like to think it is really good but its not that good. Its my least favourite U2 album, its not bad at all, songs like Dirty Day and Lemon and Stay are great but...its the worst album, sorry.

    You cannot compare it to the Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby or even How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Has anyone noticed no songs from Zooropa are on the U218 Singles album, because no of them were ever popular enough to be really famous. I know the popular songs aren't always the best but every song on the Joshua Tree album is better than everyer song on Zooropa, easily.

    Sorry if I have offended anyone, but thats my opinion, and yes Zooropa is very original.

    and for the record, 'Lemon' deserves a greatest hits spot.

    As you can tell, I like this album quite a lot.

    you haven't offended me but i don't know HOW you can say it's not as 'good' as all their other albums?! i mean obviously your entitled to your opinion but what do you base this on?! sales? lack of hit singles? lack of easily accessible pop songs?

    my opinion on zooropa is that it is easily their most innovative work (alongside passengers and pop) and therefore in my opinion one of their best albums and probably one of the highpoints of their career. also i was listening to it today and it occurred to me that it contains prettty much all of my favourite U2 lyrics. no talk of submarines and gasoline here.....

    now i feel like i've got to be careful what i say cos i don't want to piss people off again by repeating my usual 'speech' but when i listen to zooropa it reminds of what made me a U2 fan in the first place and i can only hope that the fact that they are playing zooropa live again means that they have re-discovered and remembered what amazing music they can make when they aren't worrying about number one singles and trying to make commercial music and be the biggest band in the world cos to me those things should never take precedence over artistic integrity.


    edit: also i've just noticed that both people on this page who list zooropa as their least favourite U2 album both have brandon flowers as their avatar!?! a scientist would surely find a meaning behind this.... possibly the theory that zooropa is not for people who like easily accessible chart friendly pop music?

    although i probably agree with some days being the bottom track i still love it cos the lyrics are pure genius and so true!

  10. A great album and very underrated. I once heard this album in a coffee shop in Amsterdam and discovered why it is very highly regarded by stoner's.

  12. my opinion on this album has changed quite a bit; it's their third best behind AB and JT, and just infront of Pop (which is in 4th place).

    90's U2 were untouchable.
