  1. I'm confused, I always thought that U2 are a band, but some people say U2 is a band.

    U2 are Adam, Bono, Edge and Larry

    Adam, Bono, Edge and Larry are U2

    but...

    U2 is Adam, Bono, Edge and Larry

    Adam, Bono, Edge and Larry is U2 (doesn't make sense)



    I know its a stupid topic, but which one do you say??? I am Intreeged

  2. I always refer to bands as "are", and it annoys me when people say it differently. haha
  3. Good call. I was wondering the same this afternoon. I think it's is a band and Adam, Larry, Bono and Edge are U2
  4. U2 is a rock band ,U2 is excellent ,U2 is is is is is and always will be my favorite band , U2 are (im sorry I feel like a pirate I just can't do it )

  6. It's "is" after the band name as that is a singular entity, hence gets the single nomenclature. The group of names together pluralises it, so "are" is then correct.

    U2 is

    Adam, Larry etc are

    Edit

    However, I do say U2 are most of the time.....
  7. Depends. I think that in English English they say "are". In north america they say "is". So "are" is correct since the english english is the real deal.
