Does anyone else think The Who may just be the most talented band ever on a member to member basis?

I'd say either the Who or Zeppelin.

...and to think Keith Moon and John Entwistle were going to start a band called Led Zeppelin...

They are the most talented band member to member basis. Swinging mic, drums and bass guitar sounding like thunder, and whirlwind guitar. And thats just stage antics.

Sure, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin had the popularity, but the Stones were a different band every couple of years. Led Zeppelin would have kept going, but until when?

Rock 'n' roll never died, it just ran out of time

    Sub-topic: best supergroup?

The Dirty Mac (One-off performance at the Rolling Stones' Rock & Roll Circus):
    John Lennon: guitar, lead vocals
    Eric Clapton: guitar
    Keith Richards: bass guitar
    Mitch Mitchell: drums

I dont think you could get any better than that, I mean there is CSNY and the Travelling Wilburys, but there's no comparison to the above.

    nah, RHCP gets that title.

and Jon solos on 'Runaway'? sweet!

I'm seeing them live on Sunday so I'll keep an eye out.

  5. I still think Cream is the best supergroup. Other than that the Damn Yankees. There prettyy overlooked.

Bon Jovi at this years Rock In Rio. Yes that is a Telecaster Jon is playing.I'm pretty sure thats him soloing right at the end. Also, Lovin Richies jacket.

Definitely. While the sum of the parts was certainly greater than the whole, each was as talented a musician as they come.

    I know, wierd isn't it?
  8. Does anyone else think Joe Walsh is a guitar god? (This was done with The Eagles on the Hotel California tour. Joe is the one with the 335. The Strat man is Don Felder.)

No. Joe Walsh and Don Feleer are good but I wouldn't say 'Guitar God".
