According 2 them, Daniel Lanois recently made this interview with a french-canadian magazine called "Voir"
And revealed a new song title on the new album
He said that U2´s album is practically done, and he feels really satisfied with the work
Especially the bass guitar makes him proud
As many times before he repeates that, this is goin 2 be one of U2´s most magnificent albums
He continues to tell more about a certain track.
"Jimi Hendrix" visits me from time to time.
I´ve taken that influence to the studio and it inspired me to try a whole new concept.
It probably shows on one of the tracks called "The Cedars of Lebanon."

In an interview with the Montreal-based magazine Voir, Daniel Lanois gets all loose-lipped about a new song on U2's upcoming album. The original article is in French, and the U2 stuff is in the last two paragraphs. Loosely translated, Lanois essentially says there's a new U2 track called "The Cedars of Lebanon" and that it draws inspiration from Jimi Hendrix. Lanois might also be saying that it's the first song on the album, or that it'll be the first single. (Anyone better at French than me want to confirm?)
If you're curious, you could do some research online, and learn about the importance of the cedars of Lebanon going back to Biblical times and beyond. :-)
Thx to GN, SW, and others for the tip.

Originally posted by germcevoyi'm not jeen on the Lebanon song title. Reminds me of Wave Of Sorrow. I think U2's political song writing days have long since passed. I'd like them to stray away from whats appening over there (assuming it's a politically based song that is)
