  2. I was born on 1990-03-07... This was a bit after the end of Lovetown-tour so i think they made a rest for my birthday
I do know they only played once before at my birthday...
    1992-03-07 - Hampton, Virginia - Hampton Coliseum

But of course i wasn't there...
Actually i've never seen a concert of U2
With Vertigo-tour, they played only once in Belgium and it was sold out immediately !
But next time, i'm taking my tent and sleep before the stadium to have tickets i think !

Ok that made me even more Persistant(i think that's the right word...)
  6. Yeah I must see them next tour! Last tour I jad a chance but at the time I wasn't as mad with U2 as I am right now. My mum did see them year back, she thought it was The Joshua Tree. I'm a bit jealous But she made a promise: If U2 comes to Holland, we go! and maybe I go with a friend of mine can't wait!

    Hi Steve!

I was in the stand at the back, middle tier. View was amazing and whilst there was slight echo it wasn't as bad as the floor (from what I've heard). Plus I got to hear all the singing along crystal clear, drowning out Bono most of the time. I've got the most amazing photo of the crowd (including you I suspect!) going absolutely nuts during Streets.

I know I've asked already but the topic has grown wings and lost the first page.... were you really at a gig age 5years??!!!

  9. Sounds a better view than I had. We could pretty much only see the band live when they walked out on to the stage-thing that comes out, so didnt see much of Larry and Adam.

I walked near the back where the disabled people were and that looked like a great view! Went with some friends who think u2 are ok, so they weren't bothered where we really stood. Originally we were in the middle of the stadium but then this crazy guy ran at a group near us with a flick knife and he was swarmed by stewards. It got a bit crazy then, everyone became psycotic just before u2 took to the stage. Defo want to see them again tho!!!! an arena or open-air gig would be good, instead of a stadium with a roof closed.
  10. Yeh, I really wish they'd had the roof open too. Not as if we didn't have the weather for it.

Guess it was to get the darkness straight off to improve the visuals. Made it almost huge-arena like (and contributed to the echo).

Never knew about knifes and stewards! Madness....
  11. It was strange seeing the milan gig on channel 4 cos it started in daylight after having seen them in darkness.
  12. Remy's just posted this on another thread but might offer some explanation for our roof thing at Cardiff:-

We haven't played outdoors in the States this year, as in a way it suits the music and this production. In Europe, we have to perform in daylight and it's a real pain in the neck.

“It's impossible to escape from daylight now we're into the summer. For example, the band are going on stage in Manchester tonight at 8.45, and it won't even start getting dark until after half nine. “

As you go further north, to Oslo and Copenhagen, it just doesn't get dark at all, he said.

“The logistics are completely different in this European tour, as we're playing outdoors. We need to build the stage from the ground up at every venue. In arenas in the US, the stage is suspended from the roof.

“The overheads are much, much higher in Europe. The type of arenas we play in the States, with up to 20,000 seats, just don't exist here - I wish they did.”
