1. Ok, I just came across a link that Steve put on the General Chat topic earlier on from atu2.com, where some guy was writing about his personal top ten one-line U2 lyrics, and so it inspired me to create this article - what are your Top Ten One-Line Lyrics? And I mean your top ten, not just putting down the odd lyric here and there (or say "the whole of The Fly"), because there are other threads for that - I mean, are you able to have a serious think and come up with your top ten one-line U2 lyrics (or perhaps top five if you're really stuck for ideas...) to share? You can just list them, you don't have to go into extensive detail if you don't want to, because I can appreciate that sometimes there's just that inexplicable thing about something that just reaches out at you in a way you can't explain, be it simply a bit of beautiful poetry or a neat bit of subversive irony. Just give it some thought and stick 'em down!

EDIT - To hell with the "one liner" concept, no one seems to have taken to that idea so we'll just leave it as "top ten lyrics", however you wanna choose them!
  2. Here's mine, with much thought:

    10. Give me one last chance, I'm gonna make ya sing

    09. In the backstreets, in the backstreets of our love

    08. And you need her like a drug

    07. You're dangerous, 'cause you're honest

    06. All the promises we made, from the cradle to the grave, all I want is you

    05. I believe in kingdom come, then all the colors will bleed into one, bleed into one. Yes, I'm still running.

    04. If you twist and turn away, If you tear yourself in two again, If I could, yes I would, If I could, I would, Let it go

    03. Who's to say where the wind will take you,
who's to say what it is will break you?
I don't know which way the wind will blow
Who's to know when the time has come around
    Don't wanna see you cry
I know this is not goodbye

    02. You're the reason I sing, you're the reason the opera's in me

    01. Love, you shine like a burning star, we're falling from the sky, tonight
  3. Ooooohhhhh, this is a big ask. Will have to put some thought into this one. Standby...
  4. In no particular order, I've just written them for length reasons in order to look like a triangle I forget many of them, of course, these are just from the top of my head.

    You're dangerous cos you're honest...
So don't let the bastards grind you down...
Daddy gives you as much as you can take...
A house doesn't make a home, don't leave me here alone...
You can run from love, but if it's really love it will find you...
Some places are like your auntie, but there's no place like Miami...
It's the blind leading the blond, it's the cops collecting for the cons...
And you never knew what was on the ground till they made you crawl...
If you need someone to blame, throw a rock in the air and you'll hit someone guitly...
So we're told that this is the golden age, and gold is the reason for the wars we wage...
  5. I'll give it a try, in no particular order....

-The air is heavy as a truck (Electrical Storm) (my favorite song, this lyric symbolises it...)
-The stars are fallin' from the sky (The Fly)
-Don't let the bastards grind you down (Acrobat)
-Midnight is where the day begins (LEMON...I NEED LEMON... )
-I'm not the only one, Staring at the sun....
-You can reach, but you can't grab it (Discotheque)
-I'm ready for the laughing gas (Zoo Station) (Makes me happy every time)
-There's no blood thicker than ink (Dirty Day) (I think this would be my number one....)
-How long to sing this song? (40) (Just because it's a great concert-ending...)
-A vampire or a victim, it depends on who's around... (Stay)

    I hope you like it...
    Great topic BTW...

I was about to post that one, but I EVEN prefer the "Rock in the air" one. Very indeed, Dirty Day is one of the greratest songs ever written, and the music is soooooo awesome with that bass and Edge on fire...

Indeed, the only problem is the falsetto, and Edge could do it.. Moreover, if Bono's voice remains sooooooo great as it was on Mandela's Birthday, HE could do the falsetto
