1. Let me check my bag of tricks... I just might have a backing track for WGRYWH.

I will have to check my computer at work too...

...if it doesn't show up there, I've also put out some 'feelers' to a few 'in the know' folks that might be able to send me one.

    Stay tuned...
  2. A bit late but here anyway, here are a few clips I've recorded thru the last months. I'm not any kind of proffesional, and I play mostly looking for joy, so there are mistakes and so, don't expect a perfect version of any song.

All I Want Is You, whole song (Gibson LesPaul Artisan): http://www.mediafire.com/?nnjazpxjdn0
In A Little While, intro (Hofner VeryThin): http://www.mediafire.com/?1s1urnyy1m1
In God's Country, whole song (Hofner VeryThin): http://www.mediafire.com/?btgmbtz8ukm
Hawkmoon 269, live intro from Amsterdam 1989-12-18 (Hofner VeryThin): http://www.mediafire.com/?m34ai1gstzm
Even Better Than The Real Thing, solo (Gibson LesPaul Artisan): http://www.mediafire.com/?nnpddwy3zen
Until The End Of The World, solo (of course Les Paul Artisan): http://www.mediafire.com/?loe1xjlogmb

That's all for now Waiting for feedback and advices
  3. Hey Scotto, you'll dig this! I found these pics on the Lakland website. They probably give the most insight into Adam's sound and effect/guitar usage on specific songs. I would say that these pics give us more than the info from the two interviews that keep getting reposted everywhere.

I love Adam's "idiot proof" setlist complete with color coding for his basses and what effects are to be used.

Apparently nicknames help too. Note the designated switch for the bass Edge uses on "40"

Again the bass Edge uses on "40" gets special labeling

The tech bench for the "Poshest member of U2" complete with espresso machine.

  4. Nice one, Jeff! Is the WGRYWH backing track inclusive of an extension for a solo bit per chance?

I think that's the same for all of us, Sergio - no one here is a pro. if I'm not mistaken? We're all playing for personal enjoyment, and I know that I'm definitely not perfect! Giving your clops a listen ASAP

Alright (answered on gen chat too), on topic again:

Which setups/pedals/effects does Edge use on Mysterious Ways (album)?? That echoes and delays and so sound darn good

Fairly sure it's the Korg A3 (or whatever one it is specifically - needless to say the word Korg is hiding somewhere around), someone brought that up earlier on here but I'm buggered if I'm gonna go looking for it . The problem with Edge, much as we all love him, is that with his multitude of effects units and his propensity for fiddling around with things in such nifty ways means that we're forever running around trying to work out what he's using lol...the swine...

OK thanks for your efforts Indeed, Edge is so fucking genius that anyone can get his sound perfectly right. I haven't seen yet a decent cover of Bad... That echo, that delay... Impossible

By the way, anyone knows which guitar is this? It seems to have the neck of a Stratocaster and the body of a Telecaster. WTF??

I wouldn't go as far as to say that but if you're really chasing the Edge's tone here's the group of people you want to hook up with...

Trust me, these guys are the propeller heads when it comes to getting the U2 sound perfect.
