That's my thinking, 'cause I don't know the details for certain but I remember that the other show has either tracks missing or is shit quality (the one with the other Vertigo version of Discotheque)*

Still having trouble with the Brussels show, I've now got past the "your IP address is already downloading something" stage, am now on the bit where you get the countdown, and then the cats don't appear and you get told that you've entered too many wrong codes lol...

Dammit - I don't suppose it would be possible to upload it all onto Megaupload would it? I never have any issues with MU lol...

*I'm guessing this "other" show is a soundcheck recording or something, or rehearsal? 'Cause according to u2gigs.com it was played in Toronto on 2005-09-17...but that doesn't exist as a boot?

It was a full show. I don't believe it was recorded, however. From what I've read, they played Pop Muzik into it, and Edge used his mirror guitar, but I'm not sure if either is true.

Yep, that's a good one. The Discotheque kicks ass.

    Wow , great show

I'd have to say that the Chicago night with Discotheque was the best overall setlist of the tour.

    let me think

yes , you're right about that
  6. the Toronto gig was recorded. IEM but it's a very very rare one doing the rounds between a few select traders. I've heard the Discotheque performance and Chicago pisses all over it

Nah, can't agree with that personally - it's a fairly average Vertigo setlist, but for the great encore
  8. 2001-10-13 - Hamilton, Ontario - Copps Coliseum:

    Bullet The Blue Sky
    What's Going On
    New York
With Or Without You / Shine Like Stars (snippet)
    One
Peace On Earth (snippet) / Walk On

What's Going On and New York were introduced in th encore, but unlike later in the 3rd leg, WOWY wasn't dropped yet, and it also has Shine Like Stars. The Peace on Earth snippet in Walk On makes it complete.
  9. I think Pop's been all but forgotten, Zooropa seems to be slowly going in that direction but naturally those albums that are more popular with the casual fans (Achtung Baby / All That You Can't Leave Behind / Joshua Tree) are played to no end. But then again, considering something which apparently "failed" like October, Gloria was played in its entirety as was the string of Boy songs - I Will Follow, Electric Co, The Ocean, Stories For Boys, Out of Control, An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart - isn't really a mainstream U2 release surprised us all.

Most fans would associate Please with lyrics from the 2001 attacks - but I'm sure most who pick up Pop - if they even look at it - would realize it was written in 1996, early 1997. I'd love to hear it in 2008-2009 style in place of something like Running To Stand Still or Bullet The Blue Sky, and with Bono's vocals the way they were recently at some "little" shows, they could surprise us all. I think it's more than deserving of a few more performances as is Mofo.

I actually like the little "Zoo Encore" from Vertigo. Zoo Station, The Fly, Mysterious Ways...wow. They sound as good as they did back in 1992/1993.

Nah, best Vertigo setlist is without any doubt 2005-06-27 Dublin. OMFG

Yep...great setlist. I would've appreciated a little 'Happy Birthday' snippet, but how the heck were they supposed to know it was my birthday?
  12. I also like 2005-05-17 - East Rutherford, New Jersey - Continental Airlines Arena. It deserves higher than 2-star, give it 3 or 3.5, easy!
