Indeed, I had suggested to my bro' that we go down the pub, but he wasn't up for that and, quite frankly, I wasn't either lol, it was more a bit of conversation lol.

Whats the drinking age in the U.K.?![]()
Well, to be able to purchase alcohol aswell as drink it on licensed premises etc., 18
You can drink alcohol with a meal at 16 if, say, your parents are buying it

Oh... I was to say that our's is 21, so i was wondering if you would have been served at the pub

Yeah I figured you might have thought that, yeah basically you're legally allowed to buy alcohol in any form from 18+, but you have to show ID, e.g. passport, driving licence etc. if you're believed to look under 21. I'm fine in pubs, not been asked once since I turned 18 but have been IDed once or twice in supermarkets
It gets a bit murkier if you're not buying the drink yourself or consuming in a public place (and I dunno whether this applies outside of the UK too), because I mean you're allowed to drink alcohol at home from whatever age, and consuming it in a pub if your parents are buying it as part of a meal, but you're just not allowed to buy or drink in a public place if you're under 18.

Oh... in the U.S., we just disobay all of our drinking laws to result in thousands of deaths each year![]()

And you think that doesn't happen here lol? Apparently the UK has the worst record for underage binge drinking in Europe lol, and when you consider how small a country we are geographically, that's quite an achievement (unwanted as it is). I'm just telling you the law as I'm 99% certain it is, but I won't claim to being whiter than white lol. I know perhaps 2-3 people who I would feel safe in saying had never touched a can of Carling etc. in their lifetime, but I ain't one of them
