1. Thinking about dropping the cash to join....is it worth it? I guess the only real reason I would join is to help support the best band in the world and to hopefully secure tickets for the next tour (whenever that is!)....thoughts?

Only for the tickets it would be worth paying!!
Many people is going to leave without tickets for the next tour... It's a real pain for the Authentic fans...

So if you can have them safely, for a few dollars... Do it!!

Yeah, I was one of the many who were left out of the shows during the Vertigo tour. Can't believe I missed them....it won't happen again.

same here. and theres not a chance in hell im going to let it happen again for the next tour.
  5. I had two accounts, just for the tickets. I now have only one left

It got some nice stuff sometimes but the money isn't really worth it.

But you did get tickets, right? I remember reading that there was a big headache involving fanclub tickets last tour, and something about Larry having some harsh words for the scalpers...
  7. I joined on the off chance i might get tickets.

I'd forgotten about my account when i got a pleasant surprise email telling me about the 5th leg presale.

I managed to swing tickets easily for the second show in Auckland - the presale getting into the first - with no trouble when they had a ticket drop before the shows were postponed.

Next tour i'm going to take my chances with the open market.
  8. well first of all i do it for the tickets !!!!!
And second......for the present you get everyyear when you let your
membership run true .....so as u2 communication and zootv live from sidney on cd .
Not that i had the boot before allong time ....but it's great to have it also original !!!!
the first year a membership cost for about $ 40.- and when you go for the second
year you pay $35.- plus a present ......
  9. Yeah, that's what I'm doing....securing them for one of the Australian shows.

Well, you know better than us...
Anyway, I also think that only for presents, or CDs like Communication or Hasta La Vista, Baby! it is NOT worth paying... But having the tickets safely...

Plus you can get these elsewhere anyway.

  12. I think there are some reasons that make worth joining u2.com:

    - You can be surer that you will get tickets for concerts
    - You receive some very nice presents
    - You can be more directly in contact with the band's Official Web-site
    - You can go proud of having your own U2 e-mail address (for example sadb7788@u2.com... )
    - 40$ per year are really not so much for everyone

Actually I'm going to join the site soon...
