Would I be right to think that a notable Who gig took place there? lol.
  2. More than one tour has started in Florida. (ZOOTV and ELEVATION). Vertigo would have started there too, had it not been delayed and then starting where they would have been on the tour (San Diego) had they started 'on time'.

Vegas as a starting point? Possible but not likely.

They've found a formula that works for them... so one should expect a late Feb to early March 2009 start, most likely in the south east US. They would be in Europe around June-early Aug 2009 and back to the US in late Sept through early Dec...

...after that... Mexico and So. America in Feb/Mar 2010 and Aust /Japan April-May 2010.

Even better. My birthday is smack-bang in the middle of April, so that works perfectly (if it does come out that way) for the tour.

On my last birthday (my 20th) U2:3D had only come out a day or so ago. That was like a concert. But I spent the whole trip there listening to a few U2 CDs.

I thought I remember Bono or Edge saying that it turned out to be a pretty crap idea in that all the glam and glitz they'd put together for the tour was meant to stand out from its surroundings, yet in Las Vegas it just look like everything else...?

Anyway, for my money's worth, I'm pretty certain we'll see it start in the US.

Ha, exactly why I'd die of laughter

On a practical level, the only place that would be worth considering for a U2 gig would be Carrow Road, and seats-wise it could hold about 27,000? So add to that however many you could squeeze onto a fairly small pitch (as far as footy pitches go) and we're maybe talking in around and about 35,000...
  9. Not easy access from my memory is Carrow Road.I reckon Old Trafford both cricket and football stadium may be used next year,Lancashire haven't got an Ashes Test so it may provide some money for 'em.

Re. Carrow Road, indeed - it's fairly easy if people travel by trains because it's just a five minute walk from the station, but that said the train station isn't that big...via. road it's a good trek from most car parks around and about the city. I just can't see it happening to be honest. I think they're more likely to stick to the City of Manc. that Old Trafford seeing as they've went there last time around, but I'm not sticking my colours to the mast on that one. I just think they're gonna probably go for the O2 Arena(s) - i.e. both London and Dublin, aswell as perhaps a fairly lengthy stop at Wembley.
  11. Good shout.Depends what they want to do though innit ? Weren't they split 50 / 50 on Vertigo wether they wanted to play in or outdoors,2 for in 2 for out, something like that.

    Portman Road anyone

Can't say for sure re. the first bit, but I sincerely doubt Portman Road would be on their list...and that's not just me 'cause I'm a Norwich fan...why the RHCP went there is beyond me...
