  1. Hey guys. I live in Canada so I use the NTSC video system. Now, I've downloaded some dvd's off U2 torrents, the pro-shot ones and some audience shot, but there are a lot of pro-shots that I can't seem to find in NTSC, and they're only in PAL. Is there a program any of you use to convert it? I know my dad told me I can just burn them in PAL, and bring them to a place near my house and get them converted, but for a price
    So does anyone have a program that can do it? And can you give me the name if you do?

  3. i haven't figured this out yet but i feel your pain buddy.

    i HAAATE PAL speedup, for music it's the worst, it's almost a semitone off.
  4. I may be absolutely retarded, but I never had a problem with this. Sure, it scared me off when I'd see something in PAL from U2torrents, but I downloaded them anyway, burned them in ToastPro on my iMac, and they play on my NTSC DVD players just fine......is this a freak occurrence? I don't know.
  5. A few years ago, my aunt sent my family a DVD that she had made, and she accidentally encoded it in PAL... I was able to convert it back then (2004-ish), but I don't remember what I used.

    Well, they do play on one of my dvd players fine. But the audio and video run out of sync very fast, and the video seems like, choppy or something. It's hard to describe. It seems like when the camera changes, or moves, its really harsh on the picture or something. I can watch them on my computer fine, but not on my dvd players.

    And I have tried some freeware stuff I found on google, none of it seems easy to use or works. I can always try some more, but I don't have high hopes.

    G'day Alex - and thanks for dobbing me in Jeremy.

    Any DVD files you download and burn using NeroVision, will automatically convert to whatever you choose in the Video Options. Nero is a little expensive but probably less expensive than that place near your house.

    To be honest, they probably use the exact same software I do - backyard job is what we call them in Australia.
