Or U.S (probably around the same) I have to start a U2 ticket budget with my weekly earnings The sad thing is, I doubt they'll come to my town (ottawa, ontario). It's stupid, a lot of bands go to Toronto and Montreal, but skip Canada's capital, just because its smack in the middle. They came here last time (vertigo tour) i believe because our Prime Minister was friends with Bono, and he asked Bono to do a concert here. The only other times they've been here were during the Boy tour in a small bar/club and the UF tour in a small arena here. (My good friends dad saw them both times, LUCKY!!!)

Anyway, our prime minister that's in office now, declined the offer to meet with Bono when Bono asked to meet with him. WOW WAY TO GO A-HOLE! I'M NEVER VOTING CONSERVATIVE BECAUSE OF YOU! So. I doubt they'll be comin here. SUCKS.

It's generally bad practice to vote conservative anyway lol
  2. November sounds great!!!
    but it's so far away!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha. Good point. But even so, I do hope they come, regardless of what a completely non-musical icon has to say about it.

Bono " Our new album was deeply inspired by the intro music to the Teletubbies *plays track with band making "Say hello" sound epic*".

    Johnny " AMAZING!"

LOL far away?! we all made it through 4 years (!!) since the last album now... a few more weeks shouldn't be too hard, right?
  8. When some of those involved in the production of the new album say this will be their best ever work and most innovative, what exactly are they comparing that "best ever" to, like which record? Just something I've been wondering.

    Other great work

I'm guessing they're probably looking towards Achtung Baby, Joshua Tree (the two albums everyone generally agrees to be their finest work) and HTDAAB (the album the band claim to be their best yet) as gauges. If it does top the former 2, I will be impressed lol, but I don't think it would be too much to say that it could be better than Atomic Bomb because I personally don't think that's the most amazing album they ever released - just one that sparked off a damn fine tour

They want it to be Bomb, but they know its all AB
  12. Some extracts from Neil McCormick's Telegraph article that featured an interview with Paul McG.

This is what's the authors thoughts:

U2 are racing against deadlines to finish their new album in time for its planned October release.
With recording still ongoing, sleeve designs to be finalised, download visuals to be completed, and all kinds of marketing plans to be set into place, the atmosphere is of frantic concentration.

    This is what Paul reveals:

"It's all hands on deck," says manager Paul McGuinness, although his smile suggests that, if you have to spend summer in the recording studio, it doesn't hurt to have your equipment set up in an enclave of luxurious chateaux in Provence, surrounded by holidaying family and friends. McGuinness may have a mobile in his hand and business to take care of, but at least he's calling from poolside.

"The artwork surrounding the release of new music from an artist that you're interested in is, in many ways, just as interesting as the music. I can remember when carrying a 12-inch LP down the street was almost an expression of the kind of person you were, every bit as significant as what you wore or how you cut your hair. These things evolve, but I think the industry as a whole is missing the opportunity to produce the digital visual coefficient [of an album sleeve]. And watch this space because it's something U2 are addressing on their next album."
