    IN U2 guitar related news... other than the auctioned blue LP Standard and the new (new to Edge but probably vintage) Gretsch White Falcon (seen in the U2.com footage), I wonder what other guitars that The Edge got for the album

    Some guitarist are "wired". If you take Mark Knopfler, or Carlos Santana, they can make any guitar sound like them. Also, dumb quewstion for Jeff. Are you and Dalas on a first name basis, or is it Mr. Schoo?

    We never get those in Michigan (or at least my part) but ocasionally theres one in Kentucky or somewhere down there, that you can slightly feel the aftershocks from.

    True, but I can tell when Knopler is playing a strat or a les paul.

  9. Sometimes I can't tell what kind of guitar Edge is playing when listening to a bootleg, especially the older ones like JT/Lovetown tours. I know lovetown he mostly used the clapton strats, but when listening to a JT concert, the only way I know he's using an LP on songs like Exit or God's Country is just because I KNOW he is. But I do think you're right about some guitarists being "wired" though.
  10. I know a few folks that didn't like the tone of the Clapton Stratocaster. I think Edge sounded great on that tour!

    The yellow one was used the most during that tour.

  11. The interesting thing about the Clapton Strats was that they were used on songs that he usually used Strats
    - "...Streets..."

    and some that he normally used a humbucker fitted guitar (Explorer or LP)
    - "I Will Follow"
