1. Viva La Vida is a good album, I love it. I believe Coldplay finally made some record with their own sound, learning from the experiences they got from their earlier work. The piano isn't that prominent anymore, which is good too. And you can feel Eno's hand in all the songs.

  3. Basically i think that when you are a fan of a band A LOT, it comes across in your music and it influences you without you knowing.

That's a very nice way of putting it. I don't think Coldplay sets out to sound like U2 but, yeah, you can't help your favorites influencing your art, no matter what the medium.

true that. Bono's influences come through in his writing, but it's always distinctly Bono

Just as Clocks and Viva La Vida and Yes and all the songs are distintly Chris's. I saw them live at the Forum (1st show of TOUR! ) and have gotten into there music now more than ever and no longer see the all the talk about them copying U2. i think there a mix of bands rolled into one. radiohead u2 and oasis and beatles. its really nice actually. there more unique than ppl give them credit for.

yep! i'm more or less in love with the album. I mean, if Coldplay's is this good, I can't even imagine U2's omg
  10. I saw them at the Boston Garden on the 4th.....and they rock. Sure, they have U2 as one of their main inspirations, and borrowed some ideas they made. I would too if I were in a band. For some reason the Viva la Vida Tour reminds me of Zoo TV, and I'm glad it does. Their new album IMO is their best thus far. AROBTTH is good....but kinda fades toward the end. With Viva, It's just so awesome. There are also some other Viva related tracks that are good. Death Will Never Conquer is to Viva as Satellite of Love was to Zoo TV. A Spell A Rebel Yell is alright, maybe the weakest thing from the Viva era so far. Its a B-Side, and I understand why it was left off.

Overall...album of the year, and Viva la Vida (song) getting song of the year and record of the year

  11. Okay, I love Coldplay, but......that's giving them a little too much credit.
