I understand what you're saying, but don't you think the media are in many respects responsible for politicians being perceived this way?

They beat things up into a frenzy, misreport, misrepresent, misquote, have their own agenda and are only in the business of selling - informing is a very distant second priority. I don't believe a thing I hear on T.V. and believe maybe 50% of what I read.

Where does that leave the hapless pollie these days. They don't stand a chance.

Oh definitely, the media are guilty, but in that sense I don't really have much to do with the media these days. 2 years of Sociology for A-level changes the way you perceived everything! i.e. "everything you know is wrong". Well, it's not THAT drastic but there's a message to read into that. But that said, if politicians were all good eggs, would the world be as fucked up as it in is many respects these days?

The real question is would it ever get reported?

I hate to break your hope Serg, but he's not as plausible or trustworthy as you think he is.

He has promised more unauthorized\zed wars under his regime sorry 'administration'.
And voted for the FISA bill, authored by Bushes buddies to spy on American civilians.

    Change?

    I think not.

Ah, the curse of the modern media is laid bared for all to see by one incisive piece of observation lol.

And if McCain doesn't sway from Republican traditions, it will be even less of a change for the US...
  8. I dont know about you but I like my right to own a handgun. Combine that with my hatred of afirmative action, and my "moderate, should be legal but is abused" views on abortion and you should all be able to see why I'm not voteing for him. Also will it kill him if he admits he was wrong about the surge?

    *afraid to you say anything*

Which candidate are you referring to here?

Source? I'm just curious as to what you're referring to....
  12. Ok you guys if you are having a problem deciding which candidate to choose for your future leader. May I offer you the chance of bidding on one we have going spare in the UK.
Fairly described as would be on E-bay as 'used'. Meaning not in excellent condition and certainly not unsealed. Then you too could experience what it is like to know that your leader will (as tony before him) do anything as instructed by the mighty one leading the US.
Gordon Brown to highest bidder starting price £1.99 ($1) bid ends - 'whenever'
