1. I love my Epi LPC. I love every bit of it, sometimes i don't agree with the sound, but for the most part I do, and that's what matters. In fact I just perfected my sound for 2 songs. This afternoon I'll be using the Epi to make a couple vids, New York and Out of Control, so I'll keep you guys posted on those.

You'd need a hammer and some determination to break it. Only the control potis are a little small and likely to break when kicked with power - but they send a protecting plastic control shield with each pedal. Anyway, these discussions are the reason why they invented the new Cool Cat series - made of metal with true bypass and the controls at the back. if I didn't already own a set of minis I'd definitely get myself a set of Cool Cats.

I think all of the mini pedals are quite good except the distortions. Of course, the bigger Dan-O ones are most likely even better if you desire to spend more money. The minis are good enough for me and incredibly cheap. Plus - I like the mini board. Small, well protecting and easy to use.

I've seen Danelectro mini's crack. I've seen the knobs come off. I've seen the switches fail and break off.

I am not saying the mini's are all bad. But it's a bit like Payless Shoes... good for some wear but they are hardly Feragamo. Same with the Dan-O mini's. When you pay less - you get less.

...now I've restrung my Epi. LP Custom, it actually sounds pretty good lol . TO be fair, it's not like it sounded that shite in the first place, but replacing the stock strings with Roto Reds seems to have worked a treat

    Ah I get you

They are making a Slash Goldtop? S-weet. The Gibson "Slash" LP Standards are nice. There is a tobacco and a NOS (new old stock) honeyburst that is copied down to the cigarette burns. I have the Epiphone tobacco finish Slash LP. Has the same great Duncans that are in the Gibson. Sweet sounding guitar.

The two Gibsons were in the 3K range. The Epiphone was in the 1K range. I got mine for 650.00

Sorry I didn't mean Goldtops lol, I just imagined Slash in typical Slash pose and the guitar in his hands was a goldtop lol...

    Whoops

And Alex, look forward to it! . I've got a couple of shoddy covers to put up, mp3s they be, I was bored and recorded them on my mp3 player so they're not going to be that good lol...not to mention they were fairly spur of the moment...

But Slash does occasionally play a Gold Top so it'd be cool if they made one of them too!

Listening now to my ones before I put them up as mp3s - they're not particularly great. Streets (live backing track) with one delay unit and UTEOTW played under the influence of sweaty fingertips lol.....I'll stick 'em up anyway, but they're not as good as they could be lol.

Indeed, tis what I meant lol - I was imagining Slash playing a Goldtop but forgetting that Epi. haven't released a signature model, and I agree, if one were released, I'd be after one lol!
  9. Hey strat do you have any clips of yourself playing? I'd like to hear some of your gear man! Especially that clapton strat or the Danelectro 12 string.

I think streets sounds fine with one delay unit man! And I hate having sweaty fingers when playing guitar. It makes your strings die out faster and it's annoying to play. But after a while my hands have gotten used to it so they don't sweat anymore.

Heh, I'm used to it too! Problem is, I just melt when playing guitar anyway, especially in my room which may as well be a bloody radiator in itself...

...and yeah, the recording won't really do much justice but the problem with my one delay unit is that it's a multi FX box with expression pedal. The patch I use for Streets is set up with delay, drive (with simulation of a Fender amp. at full whack so you get the icey drive feel) and a bit of compression. It may not be accurate, but I think it works. However, I've set the pedal to control the drive, but the problem is, that means the delay kinda goes to the back of the queue, whereas if I set the pedal to act on delay, I could affect the intensity of the delay but it wouldn't sound right tone wise. Yes, I know, my rig is crying out for a couple of stomp boxes lol but I can't meet that need for now lol

Anyway, I'll post 'em and let you all have a listen
