1. Seems there are the handful of tunes that get airings when released and then... off they go.

ZOOROPA: ZOOROPA, BABYFACE, DADDY'S GONNA PAY... pretty much any Zooropa album tune but STAY and THE FIRST TIME

POP: MOFO, LAST NIGHT ON EARTH, IF YOU WEAR THAT VELVET DRESS, MIAMI (which many seem to dispise but I like it LIVE)... and some that were played for some portion of the tour but dropped to never be heard from again... IF GOD WILL SEND HIS ANGELS, DO YOU FEEL LOVED...

    ATYCLB:
NEW YORK, WILD HONEY, WALK ON ((full band - although a few acoustic version on Vertigo), STUCK IN A MOMENT (full band - although a few acoustic version on Vertigo)...

HTDAAB Some of the HTDAAB songs will not be played next tour. I'd expect that we will probaly see/heaer them play VERTIGO and maybe SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT... possibly CITY OF BLINDING LIGHTS... but probably not ALL BECAUSE OF YOU, YAHWEH, LOVE AND PEACE, FAST CARS or MIRACLE DRUG

Please was played on the Elevation tour....but I know that you know that. Just a slight oversight, I presume. Personally, I love the acoustic version post-9/11.
  3. really, realistically these are songs that they can bring back and people will know them, its not like they arent hits..... they can (and should) and probably will do these next tour if we are lucky...

    In a Little While

  4. Drowning Man is lovely, I definitely consider it a hidden gem Also If God Will Send His Angels and A Man And A Woman are
  5. I thought I'd share my thought here:
I always get the feeling that Dirty Day and New York are practicly the same song!
If you watch Dirty Day on the ZooTV dvd and New York on the Boston dvd they are quite similiar IMO...
-Both soft building-up to the refrain
    -Both played full band
-Both in the middle of the set
    -Both never released as single
    -The ending is quite similiar:
Dirty Day: 'It was a dirty day, day, day, run away, like horses over the hill' (They keep saying this....)
New York: PaPaPadada PaPaPadada...(and so on...)

I hope you agree with me....

Heartland is one of my all time favorites, when I had first discovered it I used it to listen to it over and over and over again, couldn't get enough, and still can't! But you're probably right, it requires some powerful singing ("In this heaaaaaartlaaaaand!!!" )

If God Will Send His Angels has some of the best lyrics, and the video is just awesome! I love the single version (the one used in the video) with the extra lyrics at the end ("And I don't have to know how..."), Bono sings them so beautifully

Be great to hear them play "Heartland" or "THREE SUNRISES"!!!!!!

Agreed. This song is awesome. They should spend some more time reinventing this song. Maybe just straight acoustic would be nice. I also like Do you feel loved. Not sure if they can really pull this one off live. It did have its shot but just not any great performances.

"If God Will Send..." and "Do You Feel..." both got the "Zooropa / Babyface / Indian Summer Sky / Crumbs..." treatment - THAT meaning that they tried it a handful of times and didn't feel that they were pulling it off good enough to stay in the set.

That said, I liked the atmospheric live versions I've heard, of "If God Will Send..." And "Do You Feel..." might have come together with a bit more time / rehearsal and NOT making it sound kitsch with Bono singing "Into The Groove" during the intro!

(Bad Bono... have a time out)

I love the few live versions there are of IGWSHA, that said I love the song itself. I think both album and live versions have their merits BUT the live versions have that really chilling quality through a classic Edge guitar part.

I agree with everything you said here. I love that the live version had more of a full sound to it. I love the album version, but in certain spots, it has an emptiness to it, musically.
