Although (and some of our English members can correct me if I'm wrong) my girlfriend's family is all still back in England, and they were saying while everyone has the right to healthcare over there, it just takes forever to get it.

I got the impression that Canada's universal healthcare plan was similar in that everyone has the right, but you might be waiting a while. I will say it's absolutely amazing that the Guantanamo Bay prisoners received the quality healthcare that they did. Just goes to show you how screwed up our healthcare system (and government) is.
