  1. Are there any other live performances of Lemon similar to Sydney? Or is Sydney the best?

    Does anyone else like Lemon, and think it is splendid in Live from Sydney? It has much more verve played live, wheras the album version is more sleepy and ethereal. It's my second favourite song from Zooropa behind Stay. (its a pity Stay live pales in comparision to the album version).

    Also I downloaded the Lemon single edit, and while it's less repetitive and shorter than the Zooropa version, the keyboard? ( or whatever creates that 'radiating light' effect) sounds a bit 'muffled', and isn't as clear or as 'noticeable'. Has anyone else noticed this, or should I get a better copy.

    The single edit is not on my Best of 1990-2000 though, where @u2's discography says it should be, any ideas where I can find it?

  2. I've got the Jeep Mix - that's it for my Best of 1990-2000, I'm pretty sure. Check the Single Edit isn't referring to a video edit on the DVD.

    I love Lemon from Sydney - give the Adelaide 1993-11-16 soundboard a shot, with the best version of Dirty Day ever as well. And you're an Aussie - even better!
  3. I hate the Jeep mix. I have listened to Adelaide I remember it was quite good , I'll have another listen. One of my favourite versions of Trying to Throw Your Arms Around The World is from the Adelaide show (an another song that is transformed played live).

    I guess only us Aussies are online at this time

    Sydney's the best version I've found. The oversinging on "Midnight...." is at its best there, and obviously the sound quality can't be matched by any of the others.
  5. I downloaded all the available versions of Lemon and Sydney comes out on top. Adelaide is goos but Sydney just tops the lot. Great song

    Yeah don't you just love the way Bono and the Edge harmonize in the chorus.
    "Midnight is where the day begins" so obvious yet so profound.
    They should sing it more live (though they probably wont ever again), its a fantastic song from a fantastic era, pity it was a late addition to the tour and got dropped quickly.

    The way they did it was very MacPhisto though. It would need a re-jig for any new tour. Bono's got to be up for the falsetto too, like in Mysterious Ways. Which he hasn't done since Zoo TV.

    It wasn't dropped, it was played in Tokyo. Just started very late in the tour, as you said.

    I'm a Premium on Rapidshare.

    For my own part, I meant in the past. Not today. I'm sure Gerard meant the same thing too. I like the song so much that in the past I've made sure to listen to all the versions. Overall Sydney is clearly the best.
