I wonder if we're going to get some news to coincide with the upcoming release of UABRS / Red Rocks. As that date gets closer, they'll want to hype it up more, so perhaps we'll get something then?

Though that's not until the end of September, so...I really hope not.
  2. lol my mind us a little bit fucked up after reading all this stuff

  3. Band >> party on beach >> Bono plays recordings >> people hear >> people make tapes >> people listen >> one song >> name = Sexy Boots?

    holy crap

  5. Lol, yes indeed.

NB - nothing isn't confirmed, indeed someone reckons that the song's actually called "get on your boots" or something, but this is what happens when people try to decifer a recording of debatable quality lol. Nothing liek a bit of a rumour, eh? I shan't go on any further, you'd do well to read on yourself

In my mind, "Get on Your Boots" sounds more like a rally-cry song....like, "put 'em on, it's time to do work, son!".....whereas "Sexy Boots" sounds more like.....well.....not something I want to hear U2 sing about.

But for the fact that I've heard something that makes me think otherwise, I'd think similar about it, the new title makes me think of some kinda Irish hangover song lol, e.g. "get on your boots son, you're late for work, ain't my fault you're pissed as a fart" etc...

Quite possible! How else do you explain Bono blaring songs from the new album with salivating fans on the beach below?
  9. still no word on a date....

U2 don't want to pull a HTDAAB and have a leaked album, so they're doing what the Raconteurs did.....release an album to the press and fans all at once?

The rac's Consolers album wasn't available on preorder if I remember. They suddenly gave a release date and everyone waited. Fun, but the wait was a killa. I also remember the Who releasing an LP in July before their October 31st release, Endless Wire.

And about the cover.... anyone remember the Neon Bible album cover by Arcade Fire? Or shall we go back to 1967 again?

This is another U2 roots album while the sound will have a layer of freshness and the layer we all know as the U2 touch - all of the sound. Lyrically, this could be either a deadbeat or stellar.

I predict this album to give off the same effect the Joshua Tree did for the sound, because of the roots thing. I could be wrong though, come the fall.

There is go way U2 is pulling an Achtung with the sound, because they've already been in that neck of the woods, and probably have the urge for innovation. I could be wrong again too.

So my overall thoughts / prediction?

Achtung's synths meet the Joshua Tree's eras roots.

In simpler terms, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, featuring Bono as lead singer, and synths have drenched the work.
  10. My God. Steve's morphed into rmann83......
