    It's convenient to say that they are 'recovering costs' but they are MORE than recovering costs, in many cases.

    You probably talk about 3rd party sellers here, that's another story and not to be tolerated indeed.

    those selling for profits usually arent the tapers id imagine. I agree there are loads of sellers out there but its the people who pay for these gigs that are the dumb people. They are lining the sellers pockets. If theres a market, someones gonna supply it.

    There position IS taper friendly. You want to tape and share - tape and share. Don't sell.

    I've talked to Bono, Edge and Larry about this and they are fine with sharing.

    What would I do if I were taping at a show and one of the venue folks said: Stop or don't tape? I would comply. I wouldn't lie, like that guy did and then claim I was being harassed.

    And the issue with the rehearsal was it was the one time that they said: No pictures, no cell phones, no video and no audio recording. In a case like that I would respect the bands wishes. And their wishes were such that they didn't want any pictures, audio or video out before the official tour start.

    I don't think they'd be too peeved about the tape surfacing 1.5 years after the tour ended. Although, it shouldn't have been taped to begin with.

  7. could have been the guy and he may be a dicke, who am I to comment but if he keeps sharing then I have no problem. If he sells then he does so for his own reasons and I won't be buying so it doesnt bother me. Third party sellers tho . .

    Why do I get thrown out of the venue when I get caught?

    Yep, you said that several times now, that doesn't change anything.
    Taper friendly bands (like DMB) usually have a clear policy communicated via the band's website or posters at the venue. They have a taper's section and you don't have to smuggle in and out your recording device.

    If it was wrong to tape it back then, then it's also wrong to share it now.
  9. mixed feelings about this, u2rules is a bit of a card isn't he? but you cannot argue with some of the results he gets, his depeche and u2 tapes are just remarkable and in certain parts look pro-shot! You kinda have to pander to his ego sometimes but thats the way I guess

    As for this show it's so interesting, but i know it's wrong. Maybe that makes it even more interesting in a way.... is that wrong?!

    Obvious from your responses that you are more intent on arguing and proving someone wrong than accepting what the band have said in various interviews (as well as conversations with fans) about bootleg recordings.

    We will have to agree to disagree.

  12. Well unlike DMB, U2 don't allow tapers to hook into the soundboard. From what I've heard, DMB don't do that any longer.

    Although, it would be cool as feck if U2 DID do that.
