1. But would an ALD have all the crap in the background that an IEM does?

  2. it most likely wouldnt have the clicktrack
  3. Just watched Elevation from Sydney 1 and COBL from Melbourne 1. Notice the exact same taper position, the rock steady camera and the exact same sound? This was definitely recorded by someone on the mixing desk.

Look at the pic below from Sydney. Look where the mixing desk is. . . now watch the video

I once read it's possible to request a headphone during a gig to listen to the music live from the mixing desk or something like that, and then you can record it or something?

More technically, it's not a request, but a legal requirement (worldwide) of the stadium or arena to have that for deaf and hard-of-hearing people (on both hearing aids and assisted listening devices), then you can tap into that. I think it's a very low frequency - a lot of places I've been to see shows (including Vertigo) have that as stated at the line-up and even on overhead rails.

You can just hook in if you know the frequency, but again, it depends if the event staff have blocked it out to only allow certain devices to tune in or have a noise filter or blocker of sorts - like a wireless internet spot. I don't think you need permission, but is there a way for the sound staff to tell whether someone else has hooked in?

Hopefully, that guy writes back - it'd be nice to have a great Australian soundboard.

  5. yeh it'd be awesome!! especially being from melbourne myself... it'd be nice if he had something from the 19th (show that i went to) fingers crossed...

still no reply yet guys. it says he hasn't logged in for 4 days... let's hope he gets his arse into gear
  6. This looks suspiciously like the exact same footage Channel 10 in Australia showed on the late news after each show.

  7. could be the source maybe... because i remember seein it on the news too and i remember the soundboard sound and i thought they must've hooked up to the soundboard. let's hope they got the whole show...

I reckon it might well be. Try these and let me know if they work (Sydney 1)

  9. good work mate. i'm now sure that this is press footage, but instead of being allowed into the pit they are at the desk. I bet they only have the first 3/4 songs from all the aussie gigs...

I can indeed tell you, if my theory does prove right, there is pro-shot footage of Adelaide and Brisbane as well. Because it was shown on the news with Vertigo, Kite, Beautiful Day and Streets.
  11. kite pro shot with soundboard audio = heaven!
my first 3/4 songs theory is untrue then!
